In response to all y'all, I'm convinced his name is Neil Flynn. Neil Flynn acted in "The Fugitive" and they revealed the Janitor acting in that movie. Reason enough? I THINK SO.

OMFG I'm just going to point this out to the increasingly large amount of DUMBASS LOSERS out there. the janitor is a nameless character. the creators and writers of the show are still to name him. this 'josh' theory is a joke. thats kind of easily figured out as we are talking about a comedy show here. he was making a joke, it doesn't make sense to say "there's a degree of truth in calling me Josh"..thats stupid. and thats where the joke comes from. btw NOBODY FUCKING CARES! JUST ENJOY THE SHOW

In one of the episodes we find out that his initials might spell out JD. Of course he might be screwing with us but he says he has also been called Josh. So there is a corelation. Take it or leave it.

hyactually, what he says at the "tom" part is "nice you tell him," but in reality mine is "fake" too because (as Miiniih so wonderfully put it) nobody knows the janitor's name.

The producers of Scrubs said the day the Janitor's name is revealed, is the day Scrubs finishes.
He's not called Tom, its "you tell'em", he's not caled Josh (Janitor of Sacred Heart) and all his records say his name is Mr. Janitor :D
