How did your lowering job work out for you, Would like to know, Did you run into any problems, When lowering the front that low. BTW most recommend, That one fork at a time be lowered. Mostly for safety reason's. Thank's, yl
@ylism the handling is just about the same. be careful with bumps since the oil pain is now sitting lower to the ground. and the forks are interlinked and have to be lowered at the same time
@HonanOBrien It not so safe. Messes the bikes geometry up. They should be lowered the same amounts, To work the best. It's not good to go to extremes, When doing it ether. It can make things hit, Like if the forks bottom out, and the finder may hit the radiator, The back foot pegs drag easier. Anything that is low, Will be lower then. Like the clip on's, They may be able to be put on top now ? It changes a lot, Just have to be careful not to go to far. Just my 2 cent's, yl
@ stlla909 with the ZX6R you should not encounter this problem. i assume you have a different model. i would recommend you check with your hanes manual. Some suggestions maybe neoprene or a flex metal that would allow you to fill the gap to have a snug fit.
I lowered my front end about and inch but my forks are tapered so my when I lowered it my handle bars would not tighten enough. They were moving around so I had to raise it back up to stock height. Do u think if I got clip on handle bars that smaller clip ons that would work? Thank for your help.
@stllda909 yes get some new clip ons they will work or you can keep the stock and put a piece of sheet metal shim inside them to take up the extra space
was it easy to take out the links n the rear, was it just a rear stand you used to take all the pressure off or did u have to lift the bike from the frame
Hows your handling now? And Could you also make a vid of how the bike looks after you lowered it. I have an 07 zx6r as well and was also thinking of doing the same. Thanks bro
i have zx14/zzr1400,so probably side panels need to taken off too.i have similar kit.just wondering if is necessary to compress rear shock to install new plates.
thanks for the info.. i have an 06 zx6r that i was tryin to lower the fronts but didnt real know how to come about it.. the video was kinda dark to see but i get the idea...thanks for the video..
lowering links are simple if you have the rear stand ull be fine. just make sure when you lower your front end that you have a buddy holding the front part of the bike or it will come crashing down thru the forks. let me know how you do
i bout a 04 gsxr 600 and it has lower links on it but the guy gave me the link that came with the bike. Is it hard to do? and can I just put the bike on a rear stand like u and do it myself?

Hey, just to check... you did all this with the bike on a rear paddock stand?
Didn't you need to jack up the bike in the middle (avoiding the swing arm)?
BJMoorhouse 8 months ago
no you really dont have to mess with it
