the ball can NOT be put back on your side of the court if you pass it back on the inside of the pin it has to go out of bounds over the net the player has to stay off the opposing teams court unless he is out of bound then pass it back over to his side with out making the ball go out of bounds.

why is there always one player on each team that has a different color uniform? what does this signify?

the person with a different color uniform is called the libero, they are the defensive specialists. they are supposed to save the difficult balls. they usually wont play at the net and will be subbed out.

the reason why they wear a different color is so the refs knows and keeps track of who keeps being subbed in and out.
