The man with the white shirt was not a cop, was a construction worker going back home after a hard day at work.
The officers posted on Mexico City subway are prohibited of carrying guns. They only carry their tonfas.

I know a lot of people are saying the white shirt guy was extremely brave, however in my opinion he was extremely foolish. He clearly wasn't up to the task of taking the gunman head on, and fell over an unbelievable 5 times before finally getting shot in the head while on his knees. If he had been smart enough not to get involved, being an old man he was, he'd have a family that wasn't grieving right now. Foolish foolish man.

he got shot three times (says CNN) before falling by the can. He took one while trying to tackle0:20 /, one, while trying to defend himslef0:20 / with his feet one or twoo on his third a ttempt to grab the guy0:27. and then the cutted part where he gets shot in the head then film jumps 40 secs

Suspected as much that he got shot a few times before the head shot, which proves all the more that he threw himself into a situation he was never going to be able to handle.
Lesson to learn here is if you're an old man with no weapon, don't try to be a hero and subdue a stronger, younger man with a loaded gun. The outcome was all too predictable and now he's a corpse..

No, let me clue you in here. When did the shooter shoot? When he was approached or attacked. This isn't Columbine where the attacker(s) first planned and then carried out an indiscriminate slaughter. He shot at people who made him feel threatened.
The fact that the old man attacked the gunman actually RISKED lives, since his actions provoked the gunman to start shooting wildly and repeatedly.
Please don't claim the old guy saved lives when you haven't thought the situation though.
