@FannyEssen1 Its just a standard V9 chord leading to back to the G (I), Hes playing a it like this: D (6th string 10th fret with thumb), Mute 5th String, C (4th string 10th fret, this is the 7th), E (3rd string 9th fret this is the 9th of chord), F# (2nd string 7th fret this is the 3rd), Mute 1st string or add the 13th which is a B (1st string 7th fret)... hope that helps.. this is a very common jazz/gospel chord

@jamezcollinz Yes, Berklee is in Boston. Berkeley, is in Berkeley, CA, which is right next to San Francisco. Two very different ends of the country and two different ends of the spectrum as far as education goes. I would say both are masters of their crafts though.

p.s. I love the part in this video at about 1:10 where you hear a girl or two say, "Shhh, he's looking at me." Followed by "Here he goes," a few seconds later right before he goes into his solo. Pretty funny stuff haha.

You have to be able to put it all together into something that works and John Mayer does that. Everyone bitches about how there are so many better guitarists out there than John Mayer, but just because you're a great guitarist, it doesn't mean you're guaranteed stardom.
