It was this match that Vince and Trip "bonded" like steel said Trip. It was after this match that Vince really started to teach Hunter the business from his views. Basically, Trip was standing in Macho Man Randy Savage's spot! Vince wanted Randy to take over the spot when he retired one day. Randy sleeps with a 17 year old Steph in Detroit, Elizabeth divorces Randy, Randy leaves WWF and the rest is history. Vince never wanted Randy's name mentioned again. His heart was broken by Savage.

I sometimes wonder how they were gonna finish the storyline in which Vince was (supposedly) blown up in his limo.  Unfortunately, I believe Owen passed away and they scrapped the storyline when VKM had to make a formal announcement. I had always thought they were gonna pin it on Stone Cold - How they were gonna bring him back from the dead - I had heard on idea was by saying it was a set up to see who was loyal to VKM. Its wrestyling - It doesn't have to make sense.

you know, looking back. this match should have been a red flag as to who was involved in the Austin hit and run. I mean this was the second PPV in a row that involved HHH, a car, and in this case an attempted hit. Now I kno that no one would have assumed this, but now, it seems rather logical.
