@muddymanify Ill see if I can find all the pieces for the thing, Ive got a huge bucket full of parts and junk from go karts and engines and its also a possiblilty that my dad trashed it... hes a neat freak
@muddymanify yeah ive got it but its not in very good shape which was one of the reasons i changed it out. it would barely work and all the bearings in it were just about shot
i really don't know yet. havent bought all the stuff. im going to buy a clutch from comet kart prolly this weekend. i havent gotten my kart running yet
It all depends i guess. i havent really had much experience with the chain drive(centrifugal clutch) but this kart had a torque converter(belt drive then to a chain drive) and it was good as long as it had a decent belt. Im thinkin about goin to just a plain belt drive for this kart with a tensioner clutch in it. They can be a pain to rebuild but as long as you have good parts it should be fine
@walter7093 well i use a comet clutch and people will say thay are bad- but belt clutches and chain clutches on gocarts are normally fine unless the assembly is in two peices-i brought a new clutch and myc carts chain still slips!
that thing must hual, you took thew governor off?

@4x4maniac89
Chain drive or belt?
What do you think is better ?
also can you rebuilt build comet clutches ( the belt kind) I I think I burned mine. and I read somewhere that you can do a clutch rebuilt on them
