  • You know, I'm a good christian man,yet I can't figure out how three people don't like this song. Must be satanist?

  • BOSS

  • what a song..!

  • I think these songs are the best Cornell has ever written.

  • Well, as far as I know it was essentially Cornell as the writer, and what became Pearl Jam as the band. Vedder contributed on the side. Most of the tunes were written and sung by Cornell.

  • I wish they would come out with my albums with this band even though u still got to love Pearl Jam and Soundgarden

  • When he says you it sounds like he's saying 'jew', I started to believe he was strongly opposed to anti- semitism!

  • 1990 was fantastic. This album made great memories. Click like if you know every word of every song on this entire album!!!!!!!

  • Unbelievable tune and album!

  • Hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey heyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I love that.

  • @jtminutisme1 look it up then cry because your wrong

  • PRICELESS!!!

  • @mrkevstarr Agreed!

  • It is our great loss of Andrew Wood! He changed our lives with his music and touched our souls like none other.

  • some clarification...Chris Cornell wrote 2 songs in tribute to Andrew Wood that turned into a full length from jamming with members from a yet to be formed Pearl Jam, including Stone & Jeff from Mother Love Bone and Mike McCready. Matt Cameron was asked to play by Cornell...Vedder sang part of Hunger Strike exactly how Cornell wanted it...he was never really an orig part of TOTD, he was just there....

  • @jtminutisme1

Vedder had nothing to do w/ Temple....the album was Cornell's idea after Andrew Wood died and two of his remaining bandmates from mother love bone(Gossard and Ament) joined him, along w/ Cameron from Soundgarden and laid down a bunch of songs(mostly written by Chris)....during recording they asked Vedder(who was just beginning to start Pearl jam w/ Gossard and Ament) to sing on Hunger Strike...

  • @MFBueno63 NO! they didnt ask Eddie, he was around at the sessions and just kinda walked in into the studio and helped Chris hit the low notes.... And "Footsteps" was written BEFORE Times of Trouble!!

  • ive been listening to almost all temple of the dog songs now... where the fuck is eddie vedder? His voice is really only on Hunger strike isnt it? Crap... what a missed opportunity

  • Best. Supergroup. Ever.

  • This takes me back to place I'd like to be right now, fucking genius x

  • wow, this great downbeat hard rock, makes you passive towards other forms of rock.

  • I fly at the end of this song always!!! Excellent!

  • i feel this album was the perfect combination of PJ & SG. I love it.

  • it was so diffucult 4 me 2 pick only 1 song tht was my favorite b/c all of the songs on this CD were tht gr8 ,U dnt hear music lyk this anywhere but of course U already know tht by the millions of ppl who post their observations on you tube n they,re usually correct on this subject, music ,gr8 music is such a thing of the past compared 2 the shit tht is on the radio now.I,m so glad tht I grew up in the 70,s ,80,s n 90,s

  • Its got to be one of the coolest transitions I have ever heard. And the drummer just tears it up through the whole song. A thing of beauty!!

  • whats he repeating at the end? its not on any lyric web pages

  • The ending is so fuckin awesome, Chris sings his soul out while Matt plays like a badass, and the whole band flyes for a moment. Epic

  • @hoyxd Dude, I am a soundman at a local NBC affiliate, but back in 94 I was at ABC. I used the last :20 seconds of this tune as the closing bed for our Friday Night Football show, because the video footage was a birdseye view from a chopper above the stadium. I got the same feeling from this end of this song...flying, lofty rock and f----- roll.

  • My favorite song from the album.

  • Ha! After 2 years of listening I today finally found out what Chris is singing at the end.

Whisper high oh fate, fly high oh fate

Whisper high oh fate, fly high oh fate

Whisper high oh fate, fly high oh fate

    Whisper

    Right?

  • @CBFHVP right on!

  • An awesome tribute to a great friend of pearl jam and soungarden, Andrew. Died on the day his band's album was released... Check out Mother Love Bone, if you like this, you'll love them.

  • anybody know what he's saying during the outro? It's my favorite part of the song, and i've always wondered.

  • Okay, Again I come back to hear this jam, and I read the comments, so....what's up with all you hippie grunge fans, and your comments about the drums??? Ok, I play, but the Whole Band brings this together, and makes this an Original taste.

  • Just fucking love this, you just gotta fucking love this band!

  • @jtminutisme1 fucking love this band. i just fucking love this band.

  • @jtminutisme1 I traded my cousin a joint of chronic for this album when it first came out..He was trying to get this chic,so he needed my green..What a good trade that was..I still have it 20 years down the road...Peaceout

  • Love this album, and this band, it was pure genius for Vedder and Cornell to get this together

  • @jtminutisme1 It was actually just a Chris Cornell thing. He recruited Mike and Jeff and Soundgardens drummer Matt. (who now currently drums for PJ) Eddie features on Hunger Strike. I think anyways.............

  • @HundaiExcelSprint Thanks for keeping me in check about this. Good looking out

  • @jtminutisme1 Vedder didn't get this together.. was all chris's idea, vedder didn't even come into the scene until Temple of the Dog was already a band.

  • Cool

  • Yes, the outro is flat out awesome. With Chris Cornell wailing... something, and the way the guitar changes chords... chills.

  • Also, the drums on the outro is a great demonstration of just how talented Matt Cameron is. I am biased because he is my favorite drummer, but listen closely to the footwork and the accents...amazing...playing the full kit

  • the outro to this song is THEE REASON i started playing drums

  • the outro with the drums and the chorus still gives me chills to this day

  • People like you, I know myself, walk in the shoes of somebody else Whisper to me my tragic fate Whisper to me my tragic end But don't give me your saviour People I choose life on my own Burn me your fuse, throw me your stone Give me your brand, burn on my hand Whisper to me my tragic end But don't give me your saviour People I choose, I know myself, lay my need out, give you my help But you give me your blues and you whisper my fate Whisper high oh fate, fly high oh fate
  • Love the message behind the awesome music reminds me of college

  • Whole album is fantastic.

  • @gwebb14 yea fantastic if you want slow songs about drug addiction .

  • the song is not about drugs listen its about not wanting others religous views pushed on others

  • classic chorus....say...Aeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • the outro is music gold! one of my favourite songs

  • grunge <3

  • ahhhh thank you......the whole album is worth the last 60 seconds of this song. Matt Cameron's got chops!

  • @tinmachine27 : it`s funny...i fell the same! this song final is brilliant! but i love the whole album tho.. ;)

  • I definitely agree. The last bit, in which he sings "I'm your man", has an amazing, exceptional drum break.

  • thanks for posting this!
