I really wish I had just stuck to listening to this song at the ending of "The Valley of Elah". I love Annie Lennox and I have always known she was un-orthodox but that's O.K. I believe in self-expression and the right to represent yourself however you want to. This is just too dark for me. Though it was thought-provoking so I get your point......

The video for this is interesting because it's completely different from the images I've always had in my head when I listen to it on my walkman with my eyes closed. I always tend to see WW2 pilots in slow motion with a lot of misty, dry ice in a sort of dream sequence. I particularly liked the Absolut Corruption clip with all the world leaders in a bottle. Seriously clever.

When I was growing up (which I did a lot with Annie's music) I also thought for the first few years of my life that she was a man. She has such a richly deep voice that it's easy enough to fool a 4-year-old!

Then I realised her name is Annie and that she can't possibly be a man with a name like that. :D
