RIP Jim. I <3 The Doors 4ever. ppl think im weird cuz im 14 and obsessed with The Doors and Jim Morrison and i do research on him all the time..idc LOVE U JIM..RIP:)

  • ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ

  • I cannot believe nine years has past since I visit this cemettary with Jen, the woman I was dating at the time, when we visited Paris and later London .

  • So what the United States is what some kind of sanctuary that Jim Morrison should have been buried here? Come on give me a break. Jim Morrison was one of a kind in his own category he was THE MAN and I for one even though I'm a US citizen when my time on earth is over my ashes are going to Jerusalem. He is in a place of peace and he should remain there FOREVER.

  • I've been to his grave too last week with my artschool, I was the last one standing there.

But they should remove those stupid fences.

  • I went to his grave. I had in laws in Germany. That is how i got to go. it is so peacful. I didn't want to leave it. I had to ask them in French where is his grave. One year Ray the organ player was there. I would go there every year, when i visited my in laws in Germany. Ray is a nice guy.I have a picture of it.They gated it off so the fans wouldn't vandelize it asshole.

  • I leave near this grave from 1973 to 2005 this place is a sanctuary with a lot of celebrities. It's sad but beautifull, not only graveyard, a place to find peace, . and respect for all who are in.

  • "People entering the cemetery illegally over fences at night and hosting parties at Morrison’s grave (leaving behind litter of wine bottles, drug needles and graffiti)"...

    he would be proud :))

  • I'VE BEEN THERE...AND I WILL RETURN

  • I wish they would have brought him back to the states. He could have been buried somewhere meaningful to him and his family were the American public could visit him. He didn't have a Graceland like Elvis, but something could have been done.

  • @jhskay556

Your facist gouvernment forced him to flee the US of A.

You think only the Americans have the right to Jim Morrison's remains to make it an American sideshow like Graceland??

There is no place more beautiful then Paris... And no cemetery has more caracter then pere Lachaise. I know that, Jim knows that, and millions of Americans who take the effort to go to paris know that.

  • cool video ..

  • Jim Morrison isn't DEAD!!!!!!

  • wow! this video brings back my own memories of visiting jim's grave. it was on july 14, 1982 - french national holiday

  • Visitors to Pere Lechaise often have difficulty finding Jim's grave site. Thankfully, someone tipped me off in advance: The narrow, short road called "Rue de Repos" leads to a small, obscure door in the wall surrounding the cemetery. Enter that door; his grave will be in the section to the right & is not very far. There is always a group of people near his grave- look for them. Notice the tree at the foot of his grave site- it is a lovely tree, and absolutely covered with graffiti honoring Jim.

  • Où est la tombe ... la tombe de Jim Morrison ... fucking Yank morons.

  • I can't wait to go there. Jim was and still is such a monumental figure. I'm 16 and it pains me to hear other kids my age asking "who is this?" when the doors are playing. Worse yet, some actually say "this sucks." I can't wait to go to Paris. Jim's grave and then all the spots frequented by Hemingway. To me the two are connected in a way. Two great minds inspired by one great city.

  • @JackWilsonVideos yea i know what you mean, it gives hope with young people like you who still listens to good music, maybe you should listen to lizard sun band, its jim morrisons son, he sounds very much alike and also looks like him, his name is cliff morrison

  • I GOT lost too...its tucked away...

  • It hard to find a particular grave, but it sure make you stop and think when we find who you are looking for.

  • Most people who visit his grave have no right to be there. They are thrill seeking tourists, and know nothing about the man and his mind. Piss off and go to Disneyland instead.

  • @Faeden I agree, cemetery in no fun park, it's a place where we show our respect to beloved ones that are gone

  • Ive been at his grave, i must say the cemetery is buityfull ! Its so old and strange !

  • rip Jim <3

  • You will be there one day soon enuf, why rush it?

  • You will be there one day soon enuf

  • I was there around the 20th anniversary in 1981 when I was 14, it was covered with graffiti and there must have been 35 people there.

  • @headly66

    10th?....

  • @jsox94 Yes 10th, I caught my mistake too.

  • One of my dreams is to go visit Jim's grave before I die :) I will do everything in my power to go see the lizard king <3

  • i doodled on it when i saw it :)

  • Thank You

  • i've been there. i remember that place at 0:27. the grave was so hard to find

  • I WANT GO THERE!!

  • MY 2!

  • Thats the Pere Lachaise cemetery, located in Paris.

  • is this place far outside Paris?

  • @Maginnes24 It's in the city itself. Googlemap it, There's a Metro (Paris subway) stop right there under named Pere Lachaise. If U get there B4 me say hi to Jim.

  • I heard that jim was buried kind of standing up. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

  • Ive been there last year :D

    its amazing

  • to sad to see

buth yeah peaple ar wroght he must be being barried in the states

    not in fucking paris

  • your wrong! have you seen the film..or know anything about him?

  • My girlfriend and I visited in October of 2002. Very serene and lush.

  • 30 years after Jim died the fucking french were going to exhume Jim and get rid of him because the 30 year lease was over, luckily for us there are some die hard fans out there that protected his grave site and thankfully his grave is still here.

but i agree he should have been buried in the UK or US where he rightfully belongs.

  • that was because the rent of the grave wasn't payed. I think the record company Elektra can pay it or the doors members no ?

  • thank you for that one, brother!

  • yo man that place is for music legends and french royalty so he deserves to be there besides LA is not safe for a guitar as great as him hell probably be dug up and stolen within the first week or night also he died in France so it makes sense to be buried there

  • Well said. California is no place for Jim Morrison's corpse. When I think of where he's buried now, I think peace or old poets.

  • Agreed. A perfect gravecity for a poet of his stature.

  • Jim should be dug up and brought back to the states, L.A where he belongs...

  • easy said then dome my friend but fiving a Rock and Rock grave yard where all Music Legends like Jim, Freddy Murcary(?), Elvis, Johnny Cash can all rest in please and people can go their to pay their repects

  • There are only two things you can count on in life, death and taxes.

  • That is hallowed ground......

  • hey zerocoolct why are u on here watching things about jim if u don`t like it get the hell out of here u cock piece twat

  • " We live, we die

    & death not ends it

Journey we more into the Nightmare."

    James Douglas Morrison

  • I have now walked to Jim's resting place.

    Thank-you.

  • AT 7:48 WE see jim winking.wow!

  • at 4:09 we see jim smiling from head stone. GROOVY!

  • The bust was either stolen or removed after it became so damaged from people breaking off pieces of it for souvenirs. I understand the close the cemetery down now on Jim's birthday and or the anniversary of his death because of the tourists ruining the cemetery, leaving trash etc. You've got to remember this cemetery was build in Napoleon's time and is a national treasure. I'm sure were forced to put the barricades around the area which is sad but I understand why they had to do it.

  • Does anybody know if they still bury people there...? or is it filled...?

  • They still bury people there but not just any old person, they have to be wealthy or of a high social status.

  • sad that the bust was marked so much i`m assuming it was either stolen or had to be cleaned up..and to have to put baracades around it..no respect for the nonliving..shits! rip jim, we miss ya

  • Yeah it was stolen a few years ago. I was very lucky & was in Paris for 1 week last week & visited his grave twice, it looks nice at the moment.

  • I neeed to visit his grave eventually.

  • That cemetary in Paris was the higlight of my trip there. You will never be the same after visiting it.

  • ahah anch'io ci sono stato... 3 volte

  • i was there recently ! it was super hard to find i couldnt find anyone that spoke english. it was so beautiful, and there was a cat that sat on his grave and the guards called her pamela

  • i want to visit his gravesite within the next couple of years!!

    RIP Jim

  • see my previous comment

  • I was there around 4-6 years ago, I can't remember and the whole thing wasn't gated off. I was able to go over right next to it. When I was there, there were a couple of men with a bottle of Jack Daniels and some notes they put on his grave. They were pouring jack daniels all over it and crying.

  • Below is my answer to this comment:

    Silmarien90

"ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ" means "he fights with his demons" or sth like that ;)

  • great jim..fire that never dies

  • whos the bitch at the end????

  • My girlfriend and I visited Morrison's grave in October of 2002. The cemetary was very serene and beautiful.

  • whoa aki that is soo cool

i've seen pics of it but not video and

    tombstones in France look weird

  • I think a guy like Morrison should have a decent grave

  • @vlookup1 I think he does, it's very humble... I think they should've left the graffiti. A wall of respects would be better than any grave.

  • @vlookup1 His father redesigned the grave some years ago after the inadequacy of the grave was notice. I was there again last year but i could not find it at first......when I asked the nearest couple I they knew where Morrison's grave site was (in French of course) they indicated that they were looking for it too. he spoke French but was from Canada. Five out of six people I met were looking for it too.. Morrison's lyrics planted seeds in all of us. I wrote a book about his vision.

  • dude on his grave where his name is marked it seems like there a siluate of him posing like in on eof th epics...there slike a white figure with a messy black spot on top like his hair

  • Jesus man ! learn how to use a damn video camera !!... got sick trying to watch as you bounced and shook the damn thing all over the place... other than that cool idea.

  • LOL Yea, it's kinda giving me a headache, too.

  • Viva MORRISON!!

  • I was just at his grave a few days ago... yeah most of it s cleaned up...and the bust is gone too...

  • this is such a cool video. lizard king rest in peace!

  • boring.

  • This is such a cool video.

  • I seen Jim's grave in 2000, they not have a fence back then.

  • I would love to go visit his grave.

  • he has two graves

  • why?

  • Nice video, I went ten years ago before the fence, it's so sad that you cannot see it like that anymore.

  • thank you that was FANTASTIC.. say hi to judy! THE END..

  • i am john lennon.. mr mojo rising..this is the end my only freind the end!

  • I am Jim morrison and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support over the years. Come back and visit me again soon.

  • and im jesus. i want to thank you for being such a wankhead.

  • It is the third most visited place after the Eiffel tower and Champs Elysee by visitors.....

I too believe he is not dead

  • Why do you believe he's not dead?

  • have u read the book

No one here gets out alive..

It feels like he is still hiding somewhere and will spring back.. serious

  • Poor Jim deserves better than this shabby place ... rest in peace babe we still think of you.

  • well, it looks shabby, but it's not so bad, he's with many great writers, poets, musicians, genius like him... His few friends in Paris chose this cimetery because it was the only one "available" quickly, they wanted to burry him before annoncing his death to the whole world, so there was only five people on this 7 july 1971...

  • "ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ" means "he fights with his demons" or sth like that ;)

  • OMG Who,Tell me who told you that? anyway!

I was impressed when i fisrt saw this sign on Jim's grave! It's Greek Of Course and the correct translation is: I act according to what my conscience considers right! (πράττω σύμφωνα με αυτό που η συνείδησή μου θεωρεί σωστό)! And I think, that was what Made Jim so Special!
