If I remeber correctly Brett and Geoff did not speak to each other for a long time after this. Geoff and Dale Jarret both blamed Brett for causeing that mess. I watched the race and everyone blamed Brett.

Thanks to Brett Bodine we had to stomach Jeff Gordon winning. Why Brett why?! If not for you Geoff Bodine would have ruined Nascar's attempted rigging of the race. Instead it played out the way Nascar hoped it would by letting Gordon run a lighter car. Bodine's legal car was better then Gordon's under the table illegal car.

Your thinking is flawwed. Why would NASCAR rig the most disliked driver to win? If they were to rig the results wouldn't it make sense to let the fan favorite win? If anything they'd set Gordon back so Baby Dale would win. It's like McDonald's replacing the Big Mac with a veggie burger. Grow up and accept there's other talented drivers on the track and it can't always be your favorites who win.

Nascar wanted Gordon to win for two reasons: First, have the new generation star driver lead nascar into it's new era and next millenium by winning the new premiere race. Second, he's an Indiana boy. What more could top it all?

BTW--I'm no Bodine fane by any means, but Bodine has very little to do with that Kulwicki's team became. Jim Matei bought it from "geofery" and then Jim Smith bought it from him who in turn sold it to Robby "Roll Bar" Gordon. If you want to blame it on anyone, blame it on Felix Sabates who took control of Alan's team after he passed.
