Nothing that ever has come from or ever will come from Vatican II will be Catholic. The True Catholic Mass is the Unbloody Sacrifice of Christ. Without valid priests, they cannot celebrate a real Catholic Mass, confer real Catholic Sacraments. Catholics do not just 'celebrate', but participate in being united with Christ and His Church
Can't this Church be given to the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter? The bishop of Amsterdam in the Netherlands also gave a big monumental old church to the FSSP. Amstelveenseweg 163, Amsterdam Oud Zuid. Reachable by tram 16 from the central railway station. Takes only 10 minutes, oposite the former Haarlemmermeerstation and the city jail. Sint Agneskerk/ St. Agneschurch.
that is a vivid altar, and who ever said that the novas ordo can not be valid is not really looking at the heart of the counsal most of the stuff that came from is was never intended to happen, and tradition was to get presidence, and who ever said that mass does not give glory to God , it does do you look at the tridentine rite which as I see it is a more dignified form of the mass, it offers prayer to God before they even go up to the altar and the confession is even longer then the modern one
Is this still a consecrated church or a museum of Polish heritage? I note what appears to be the enshrined body of a founder or saint? How could a church be "sold" while still containing this?
The church was sold to a group with the agreement that no weddings are to take place, no blessed sacrament is to be held in the tabernacles. The diocese can repo the church back if they so wish.

Thank you for posting. This was the church of my greatgrandparents and it was built with a lot of love. The incased statues represent the tombs of two Polish saints; the male is St. Stanislaw and the female, St. Hedwig. The beauty of this Church belies the love and personal sacrifices it took to build it.

Just wondering if the corpus of each of these saints are representations or are true Incorruptables? My cousin had the fortune of going to Italy and getting pictures of St. Vincent, St. Catherine's Incorruptable bodies. Truly magnificent! God bless.

This is indeed beautiful! If it wasn't for Vatican II, the Catholic Churches like this would have been preserved and used by now. It's so sad, many beautiful parishes have been closed down since the wake of the Second Vatican Council. :( Some people don't even realize how remarkably beautiful the Tridentine Mass is.
Oh come on now. The reason this church closed is because all the Polish people moved out of Hamtramck and Detroit and into the suburbs. The ones with some money (and good sense) did more than that, and moved to Florida and Arizona.
There are five principal rites of the Catholic Church; the Roman Rite is only one of them. The other rites use their own liturgy, and have never used the Tridentine Mass, and they are as Catholic as any Roman.
It is sad to see churches being sold to other use. I am not surprise because the previous antipope John Paul , praying with heretic, sishamtic, and pagan, protestant claim that other religion praying same gods. People are losing faith . Traditional faith is the only way forward to salvation.

St. Albertus is the latinized form the name. St. Woijech is Polish and St. Adalbert the German.
