Emo is short for emotional hardcore - Fugazi, Jawbreaker, Embrace (not the UK band btw), Scared Of Chaka... that's emo. Then you've got other forms of hardcore - tough guy hardcore like Boxcutter, Fury Of Five, Biohazard. Then metallic hardcore - Earth Crisis, Stampin Ground, Indecision etc. ... Some great local bands in my area: The Nephilim Terror, G.O.D.S (Gods Of Death Screw), Venomous Supremacy, All The Way To The Bank. Neither have an album out. They're all great bands and people too. Damn metalheads are the nicest people on earth. Anyway give underground a chance. TBDM was underground before too.
