  • @hayek218 Kind of like Okinawa stole their martial arts from China?

  • @KSJoshWhite

    Think of it this way.

Chinese do not complain Japanese as we do not try to claim origin of Karate by lying.

Japanese do not complain BJJ as they do not try to claim origin of Jujutsu by lying.

English do not complain other nations winning World Cup but only complains about Koreans as Koreans tries to claim the origin of soccer by fabrication and lying.

  • On a side note I dunno what this is but the paper cutting part was damn impressive. What I can say is that their sword is different from our Nihonto. First of all their swords are forged at a lower temperature using a L6 or D2 steel. Second of all their swords are MUCH MUCH lighter. Which is why they can cut so fast i guess. BUT our Nihonto is sharper, forged at a higher temperature and HARDER. So really they are completely different swords, just look a like. If you knew anything about metals...

  • oh, koreans again...

Fucking fake, shit eaters, keep on, try to steal all the great cultures from others.

You will know very soon such things may never be copied or stolen.

It is the art of time, environment and soul of people.

    Show some respect for others.

  • Korean Sword Art? This is CCOK of TATE, which is performed in samurai movie and stage in Japan.

  • There are 8 different kind of sword styles in Korean sword style, and one of those has Japanese sword style. But, that does not make Korean sword style Japanese because it has one of Japanese kind.

  • Samurai did sometimes "attacking by the back of sword blade". Or protecting by the back of sword blade. If the enemy is too young or woman. Samurai had pity.In Edo era,There existed police samurai, called DOSIN. When they arrest criminals, Dosin use the back of sword blade as not to kill. They were so strong. Korean faking sword dance has not such a nice culture. Attacking by sword back is called MINE-UCHI. MINE means peak of mountain and Uchi means smashing. Samurai said No worry it's mine-uchi

  • In any case, I want to the people in the world should know the Korean People is liar race, and they are the race who cannot live if they do not continue to say the lie as they always breathe.

    For example,

In Koreans thinking, it does Jesus Christ, Muhammad, Buddha, Confucius, Chinese character, Chinese herb medicine, Judo, Karate, Aikido, Kyudo (Japanese archery), Kendo, art of the Ninja, Sushi, Tenpura, Karaoke, and besides all are a Korea origin, including the universe. Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha ! (^_^)/~~

  • Haidong Gumdo=PAKURI

  • bunch of nerds in vdo... i hate korean copy cat. I love japan <3

  • japan copied korean sword. Musa came before bushi

  • @japantruthify001 Right like how Japan copied ninjas, right?

  • @Warkiam

ninja arts actually came from china...through korea

  • @japantruthify001 Pffffffft... It's funny because KOREANS are the only ones claiming that Ninjutsu came from China. I'm Chinese..."Ninjutsu" originating in China is utter horse-crap. Japanese MARTIAL ARTS was influence by Chinese. Long fist systems and palm styles were translated into karate. The Japanese only have an elementary grasp of our systems, they failed to adapt the chin na and fa jin aspects of our martial arts, instead [CONT NEXT POST]

  • @Warkiam

substituting it with hard-body conditioning. Which is fine. However, other arts such as kenjustu and other weapon arts were completely different from the dao and jian swordplay styles of china. Assasins in china were just that. Paid mercenaries. We didn't create an art specifically for spying.

  • @Warkiam Though I'm willing to learn. Give me the name of the sect that specialized teaching stealth arts. The organization, names, known sifus, known practioners...Or any references to such an art itself.

  • @Warkiam If you want to learn this video's dance, movie school in Japan is better. In Japan classic drama called "Jidai-geki" means era drama. The actors must learn movie samurai fighting action since japanese movie began in 1890.Perhaps Koreans learn and imitate it from Japanese movie. But why do they wear Japanese cloths in this video???

And why do Korean Gumdo wear Japanese Kendo clothes and protecter?? Korean's character is "to fake".

  • @Warkiam Japanese sword martial art is not concern with China and Korea. China, Korea could not attack or land on Japan. You must study Japanese history. During AD1000~AD 1600 in Japan, every time was in war situation. Especially Onin era was CHAOS era, every culture had changed to present Japanese style. So you can distiguish armour style before AD1400 and after AD1400. Before 1600, even small lord ward fought to neighbours each other. So Japan sword martial art developed by own.

  • @kaisermuto I know...I find it ridiculous that anyone can even say that chinese dao and jian swordplay influenced Japanese kendo. The only martial art that has been confirmed to be influenced by China is the broad Karate, influenced by our long-fist styles. Ninjutsu, Kenjutsu, and even Judo developed on their own in Japan.

  • @Warkiam The difference between Japanese martial art and Chinese martial art is the

action. Japanese action is simple. But Chinese action is exaggerate action and unnecessary action. Forexample, to act as well as Peking Opera. Martial art must be simple so as not to spend energy. Japanese sword martial art need one attack to kill. Even Karate also, the motto is one action to kill.Save energy is Japanese culture. To use little materials and to make biggest profit. 4649

  • @kaisermuto Actually, I find the differences in structure much more important than the differences in technique. Japanese martial arts may indeed train to inflict serious damage with one blows, be it breaking bones, injuring tendons, or bruising vessels. However, chinese martial arts attack the "balance" of the opponent, and not the body. Though I do agree that some of our forms are exaggerated...Not all of them though. Some of them are simple and direct.

  • The foreigner who it is deceived by the Koreans is poor and miserable.

  • Koreans insist SAMURAI word came from korean word SAMUR-ABI. This is strained interpretation too much. Korean SAMUR means quarrel. ABI means old daddy. Togather, quarreling old daddy. It must be very strained interpretation. While Japanese SAMURAI came from ancient verb which means "always staying back side of his highness peer to protect. At the time Samurai was called Saburae or Samurae.Any way Samurai developed in HEIAN period. So in 1192 Samurai government was established by Yoritomo.

  • @kaisermuto

Did you finish reading 武藝諸譜(1598年)?? Never mind.

Let's make an assumption. Let's assume that you're right, Korean only did archery skill at that time(1598). So the motive of this book is to revive martial art/military training during the Joseon Dynasty due to foreign invasion. The book is inspired by 紀效新書, written by the Chinese general Qi Jiguang. So after 1598, sword art was included in Korean military training. Is my previous comment invalid?

  • @halfbottleofwater In Korea there had never existed Samurai. Kendo as well as sword martial arts. Korean lord needed not to fight to Chinese. Because Korea had been slave dependency of China for 1000 years long. Korean culture was devoluted Chinese culture. (4649)

  • Korean swordsmanship declined during the end of the Koryo period and beginning of the Chosun period. Japan began a policy of eradication[5][6] of Korean culture around 1900. In 1910 the Japanese began modifying Korean heritage and outlawing Korean martial arts[7][8][9] which changed Gumdo and merged it with kendo.

  • @halfbottleofwater You are wrong and liar.According to Korean old material book, Koreans did only archery skill as martial art. Did you read original book? But it is written in Kanji(chinese character), so you can not read it.Korean young men get historical knowledge from HANGUL book. History book in hangul is kind of story. Many dreaming story tellers wrote their dream of glorious history.AND, but why does Heidon gumpo wear Japanese costume? Koreans must wear chinese clothes and costume. (4649)

  • @kaisermuto Whoa, a Japanese guy commenting on a video about Haedong Gumdo, saying that it's a copy of Japanese martial arts?! I've NEVER heard that before! Please enlighten me about this! Hey, since you don't like people using things adapted from other countries, maybe you should stop using cars! Or trains! Or Hospitals! Or computers! Or Modern Medicine! Or Buddhism! Or Hiragana! Man, you're right, Japan never borrows things from other countries!

  • @Meadras Well said. When will these Japanese nationalists understand that NOTHING IS A COMPLETELY INDIGENOUS JAPANESE CREATION, CULTURE ISN'T COPYRIGHTED AND IS NOT A MONOLITHIC, UNCHANGING ENTITY.

The very term "Bushido" comes from the Chinese "Bushi" and the concept wouldn't exist without Chinese philosophy for god sake!

  • @kaisermuto which Korean book are you saying? There were many different Korean countries in the past. You cannot deny that Chinese and Japanese also had dreaming tellers if you are going to say that Hangul history tellers are dreaming tellers.

  • @lovei960126 Korea had been a dependency of China for 1000 years long. During the period China governd so strict. When Chinese ambassador visited Seoul, Korean king must welcome at welcom-gate of suburbs of Seoul. And king must bow with kneeling on the ground directly by many times politely. So Korean king needed not to have warriors or espionage. And king's power was not distinct, Yanbang's power was so strong by confucianism. Yanbang was supported by China.Confucianism destroyKorean Buddahism

  • Comment removed

  • @kaisermuto And what does it have to do with Confucianism and Buddhism? Chinese Dynasties almost always disappeared from the throne because of the rising disturbances from Northern Eastern Asia, which was Mongol to North Korea region. Remember, you are only talking about 1000 years. Korea has been around more than 2000 years. And, other than 1000 years, some of the Korean country even d.e.s.t.r.o.y.e.d some of the dynasties that ruled over China. Of course, they needed swords to do that.

  • @lovei960126 Before talking you should know the difference of appearance between Japanese and Korean or Chinese in culture and this VIDEo's appearance. This video's actors do Japanese Tate, and they wear Japanese style, moreover the BGM is Japanese movie music. Without Japanes THINGS they can not perform the Chanbara on the stage. You must know Japan has been isolate island. Moreover from 1600s ~1853 Japan issued to close the nation. In this 250years Japaanese culture developed.

  • @kaisermuto CLAP CLAP CLAP* love your rant. I love how you are telling them what language they can read. As far as I know all the old korean people read Kanji. And its not costume. It is the Gi and Hakama. You obviously read these supposed "Books" as a second generation Apprentice studying sword forging in Kanagawa I find these debates stupid and insulting to our Nihonto and whatever theirs' is called. Congratulations you've managed to insult two nations in one sitting.

  • Every european have right to performance Korean faked CHANBARA dancing. The more they do it seriously the more they look like stupid from Japanese eyes.Because Japanese know real Kendo or Iai. Chanbara is only in movie.

  • KOREA WAS COLONY OF JAPAN until 1945. So Koreans learnd all Japanese culture during

    35 years. Even now!

  • and something that really pissed me of about was some Kumdo or Gumdo group used images of Zatoichi to promote themselves. They say Gumdo was made in Korea then introduced to Japan, but they all dress up in Japanese traditional clothes.

    They are full of shit.

  • @NickDan555 Yes, they play Chanbara playing. In Japan children play canbara with many kids in the park. Children pretend as movie star by chanbara action. These stupid Europeans pretend movie star. They must study Japanese real Kendo or Iai do.Any way they move with meaningless action. They affected like stupid.

  • lol there's a guy who commented Kendo was introduced from Korea to Japan. this guy doesn't know Kumdo and Haidong Gumdo have lost in court and admitted they fabricated history and claimed Kendo was from Korea. Ask any Haidong Gumdo practicioner about concrete evidence. They have none.

  • This Europeans group is looked like stupid. CHANBARA dancing!

  • Korean GUMPO was born in business to gather money from Europeans. Because Europeans are ignourance about Samurai and sword skill and the history. Koreans have no history of Samurai. Because Korea had been slave dependency of China for 1000 years long.

  • why Japanese sword ??

    copy ??

  • 【William Elliot Griffis 『Corea the Hermit Nation』(1882)】

Corea has no samurai. She lacks what Japan has always had - a cultured body of men, superbly trained in both mind and body, the soldier and scholar in one, who held to a high ideal of loyalty, patriotism, and sacrifice for country.

  • HAHAHAHAH! HIHIHIHI!! This is pitiful and interesting.

  • This sword performance is called "Chanbara" in Japanese. This word is used in

movie. So exaggerate action, unneccessary moving to fight will never appear in Japan real BUDO 武道. But some Europeans don't know difference between Japan and Korea. Simple way to distinguish is costume. Old Korean costume

was similar to Chinese costume. But you must learn the words, for example, Kendo,Judo, Samurai, Budo,Katana, Dojo, Rei!,these pronuciation sounds Just Japanese. Korean sounds dirty sound.

  • Why do they wear Japanese costume? This european is like clown of circus.

  • Korean magic show. funy moving.

  • JapAnimeManga Night...I have no idea why they introduce the cultural thief, Korean fake art in Japan event? This is great insult to Japan.

I'm gonna have to make a complaint to the organizer of this event.

  • All are faked Japanese sword art. Iai sword performance is just Japanese costume. Korea had never existed Samurai and Kendo and sword martial art. Because Korea had been a slave dependency of China for 1000 years long. So

Koreans needed not fight against China. Yangbang peers had been lazy living with woman slave as drinking and eating. Casual inhabitants were slave like farmers. Their sword art and Kendo came from Japan during annexation by Japan. STUDY CORRECT SWORD ART IN JAPAN!

  • everything on this video is about Japan, even the back ground music is Japanese.

Korea sure LOVES to do business using Japanese arts and cultures.

Koreans want to be Japanese I think .

  • There was Confucianism by the teaching of the country for李氏朝鮮 Korea 500 years.

Confucianism is 文治(civilian govern) and I respect a civil officer and look down upon martial arts and a military officer.

In Korea without the social background, a sword and the clothes of a Japanese style samurai are stupid and are a clown.

The Japanese style kimono and clothes are not connected to the history in Korea.

I want you to wake from shameful Korea clown.

It is only a monkey clown.

  • Dear Organizers of JapAniManga, please get rid of Koreans for good from your event. They have no business at a Japan related festival. Koreans have few cultures of their own and plagiarize every famous Japanese culture. This haidong gumdo thing is a prime example, a copy of kendo.

  • japan: Samurai started of as horse mounted archers, in Korea they had Hwarang they were also horse mounted archers.

Hwarang were noble birth people just like samurai, they trained from a young age just like the samurai, they trained in multiple weapons like the samurai. Sword, Bow, Spear, and many other weapons.

Both had CODES not only samurai.

Both countries had their own version, Japan did it on a larger scale.

Most of the armies were peasants in Korea and Japan only later that changed.

  • @EpikCyAnid Korean can not make real Japan sword. But Koreans make fake sword. How do we distinguish

Japan icy sharp sword and Korean dull sword. All Japan swords have dim wave on the blade.Suppose we drop

a paper on the placed sword, the paper must be half. Real Japan sword entices people to touch by finger with

the sharp blade. Japan sword is made by trained sword blacksmith in front of small shinto shrine in workshop. Koreans have not shinto shrine. Shinto'sDogma wants genuine skill

武藝圖譜通志Muye Dobo Tongji (1790) : Comprehensive Illustrated Manual of Martial Arts in Korea

“Archery was the only martial art that had been practiced by Korean soldiers. They have no skills of sword or spear fighting”

It is plagiarism from Japan that Kumdo/Gumdo is traditional martial arts in Korea 1000years or more.

  • naruto's theme song,lol

  • え??なんだこのお遊戯は・・・・・

  • Why does the Japanese accuse the forged Korea samurai and Korea martial arts?

As for the reason, Korea samurai and the Korea martial arts of the imitation insist on a genuine Japanese samurai and the origin of the martial arts, and this is because it pollutes a Japanese samurai and the honor of the martial arts, and an usurption does Japan samurai culture.

  • It is monkey business to insist on the Korea samurai and martial arts without a Korean having existed.

It is a fact that Korea was a dependency of Chinese 明、清 for a long time in 李氏朝鮮 Korea.

There are not society background and the base which there is a samurai.

  • The Korean martial arts and fencing are monkey business.

Because there is not the culture that there was a samurai in the Korean history.

The Korean uses a castle of Japan and the sculpture including the Asura by an image strategy in imitation of the style of the Japanese samurai in HP.

I understand it if I examine it, but, in the Korean Peninsula, culture and the castle of the samurai do not have the trace.

  • I don't know why some Korean want to copy foreign culture and despises Korean cultures.

I like Korean sword as well as Katana, but in this show they don't use Korean sword and use Katana.

    (wikipedia:"Korean sword")

Does "Haidong Gumdo" love Korean culture really so ?

  • The common point in Japan and European martial arts.

    It is Bushidou and chivalrousness.

Unfortunately the martial arts that are creation after ww2 in Korea do not have it.

In the Joseon dynasty, the martial arts were vulgar.

It was bureaucrats who had a soldier protect it to have looked down upon soldiers.

Therefore the soldier of the Joseon dynasty did not have a pride as the work to protect a country and the nation.

  • @taihuu25go

A Korean does not have the mental tradition as the soldier.

Therefore, for the copy martial arts of Japan, they can attach the false history unconcernedly.

  • Mr japanByFoot you mast angry for your teacher. mayby that is korean teacher? yes? If your respect kendo or samurai prease don't say that is samurai or kendo.

becase a that is a different samurai. this video show what is I don't know ?

    be sorry.....

  • Dear European people.

★All Korean martial arts were copied from Japan, after WW2.

Those have no history, just only the imitations of Japanese martial arts.

But the Korean insists those have a long history and Japan copied them from Korea.

    ★Of course, it's a ridiculous lie.

★Japanese real martial arts, or Korean fake dead-copied imitation martial arts.

    Which do you choose?

If you practiced Korean martial arts,

Asian people would treat you as a weird stupid person.

    ★So, Please don't be deceived

  • @SamuraiTogo And the Japs copyed teyr martial arts from the Chinese, allmost entire Japanese culture was copyed from the Chinese, why you think you have an emperor, because the Chinese had it first.

  • If you come to Japan

Please do not say the relation to Haidong Gumdo.

All the people who know Haidong Gumdo deprave the attitude.

  • @dogezaemonX I have absolutely no relation with Haidong Gumdo! I just went to a Japan Convention in Switzerland and filmed them. I had no clue that this could make someone angry...

  • @JapanByFoot

    I am sorry Mr.JapanByFoot

It is a message to "Someone" that relates to Haidong Gumdo.

This matter becomes a problem very much in Japan.

Because a lot of people made information to this movie known

My sentences have become like the advertisement, too.

I am sorry really for making you misunderstand it.

I think that it is glad that you are liking Japanese culture.

    To the fellow of VAGABOND

  • @JapanByFoot Japanese people are angry with Korean copycats shown in this video, not with you. Please don't delete this video on account of these angry comments. This video is a very important evidence for us.

  • @JapanByFoot Thank you very much to your knowledge of Japan. Perhaps you know, why did Samurai wear 2 swords with him. Samurai was not only warrior but also bureaucrat under the lord. Samurai's life was extreme strict. Since 5 years old they must study writing, making poem, mathematics, science, confucianism, history, NOH dancing etc. They must manage the country. But if he once failured, he must suicide by short sword. Long sword is to protect his lord. Suicide was honorable punishment.

  • @kaisermuto Thanks. I know about Seppuku... I trained my self in Japanese Martial Arts for many years and I have great respect for the Bushido.

  • @dogezaemonX It's a lot of things.... nothing Korean is really acceptable in Japan, and vice versa... but that's what you get when you rape someone's culture...

  • There are no relations of all between samurai's culture and Haidong Gumdo.

    Gumdo have not bushido.

There was no samurai in Korea.

  • @yamahanaya Good for the Koreans, samurais were oppressors of the common people.

  • @MsDjessa

Not to mention that the code of Bushido was invented as the warrior caste of the samurai was in decline. Many of those "glorious" and "chivalrous" Samurai served as paid mercenaries (and I don't mean the ronin).

Also they were very cruel to the common people (tested their Katanas on japanese criminals as well as peasants).

The japanese "polished" the background of the samurai a lot the last decades.

  • @FireWarlock True, at one point they did had some very respectable honor codes about honesty and such but they didn´t usually follow them. Same with the knights of Europe, theyr honor system had some stuff that you could find in the Geneve treaty but they hardly ever followed the codes, unless it served a selfis goal. Then there are the Spartans, with samurais and jnights I can understand the will to gloryfie them but Spartans? They made knights and samurais look like the salvation army.

  • HaidongGumdo are group in South Korea that collects Japanese anger.

Their insistence and business thoroughly insult the samurai.

Because they tried to participate in JapanExpo It was discontinued by the protest of the Japanese.

Probably I include the sword dance of China in Haidong Gumdo.

And there is not sparring such as kendo in Haidong Gumdo.

Both Haidong Gumdo and Daehang kumudo has a long tradition and insists.

In Korean Kumudo, they insisted, "Kumudo was the origin of Japanese kendo".

  • @taihuu25go

The tradition martial arts of Korea never use Korean traditional clothes.

  • Kumdo/Gumdo is the Korean pronunciation of Kendo and it was introduced into the Korean Peninsula from Japan during the period of the Japanese protectorate and annexation (1895-1945). Before that martial arts didn't exist in Korea. So it's never a traditional Korean martial art from ancient times.

It's true that Koreans began learning sword skills from Chinese and they called it 本國劍 / 本国剣 in the 18th century, but it didn't catch on.

  • 2.

The first time Koreans used the word "HaedongKumdo / 海東剣道" was in about 1982. It's not so long ago. In short, it's a fraud that they claim HaedongKumdo is a Korean traditional martial art.

Incidentally, the parties have already pleaded guilty to the HaedongKumdo fraud in a Korean court.

What you are doing now is a creation based on Japanese Kendo. But because the new martial art required Koreans to make a difference from Kendo, they adopted flashy action stunts like jumping or spinning.

Seeing the unfamiliar action, unsuspecting Westerners fell for the con easily. It's totally absurd that you are thankful for such a fake traditional stuff.

  • 4.

First, you must research the records of HaedongKumdo before 1970s.

How about videos? Is there a film until 1980 showing HaedongKumdo?

How about pictures? Is there a picture until 1980 showing HaedongKumdo?

How about historical records? Since the 17th century many Westerners stayed in the Korean Peninsula. They wrote about Korean archery but any swordplay or unarmed martial art doesn't appear in those records. Don't you find this strange?
