I find the Text quite interesting & wonder if we have lost the meaning of it. Nimrod ruled shinar, not babylon, The Tower & mixing of language occured at least 4 gen after Noah.& was named babel after the event, it was not the name of the place before hand. Nimrod appared to have conqored the lands of Asshur Shem's son & all the area became babylon. if it was wrong to build the tower why was it ok for the pyrimads & other zigarats & temples to be build, after this tower was distroyed?

the biblical tower of babel was most likely a ziggurat being constructed and it was significant to the jews because the purpose of the ziggurat was to basically make man closer to the heavens and the gods and Jews don't really get down like that so they thought it was bad when in reality the mesopotamians had been building them for a long time

@nodoubt257 yes there are several ziggurats in mesopotamia. sumerians were around in 6000 BCE and built the first city in the world - Uruk. babylonians (who came later) built ziggurats too and saw themselves as inheritors of sumerian culture much as romans saw themselves and inheriting greek culture

@tehgrovecourt well im just saying that we know from the archaeological record that several languages already existed before babylon even came to be. sumerians and egyptian both predate babylon. Also, harappan and early chinese cultures came around before babylon, so why would they build this tower where no city of babylon existed? this kind of building of a tower almost has to come from a state wide society which does not appear in the archaeological record until humans were dispersed on earth

wow - this is a great video because people seem to not fully understand that babyalon is not just a land mass but a historically documented location with a huge history that is revealed in the Word of God the bible.
