Cheerleading is not a sport, it is a hobby, just like dancing. Dancing is physically demanding, a sport involves a game, not dancing. I do respect what cheerleaders do because it is clearly difficult but it is not a sport.

@pailum20 thats not true necessarily. In most high school cheer teams, doubling in tumbling and the assisted flips in pyramids are illegal. Therefore level 5 all stars and school really shouldnt be compared because they have two totally different set of rules. I've seen some pretty amazing high school teams where I've competed so high school teams are definitely not nothing

I can't thank Disney enough for filming a segment on all star cheerleading!! For years, I have been always trying to convince kids at my school that competitive cheerleading is a real and true sport. A lot of people think that cheerleading is just rah-rah sideline stuff. And I am consistently trying to prove them wrong! I have been doing this sport for 10 years...and finally some recognition!! Thank You Disney for filming this video. I was fortunate as a parent to meet this group when they competed in Florida and they are great. I also want to say how hard it is to be a cheerleader, all the hours of practice, competitions,traveling etc. It is a very rigorous and demanding sport but well worth it. You not only become a cheerleading family but you get to meet other wonderful teams from out of state. Boys and girls you don't know what you are missing until you become a cheerleader.
