This is the most crucial scene in this movie, I think. This whole storys cruel, really, but it's so forceful and stirring, you cant help but say Rani and Shahruck are really talented, indeed.

And even if Ill always be against what this kind of thing, I sure love this scene. That, and the way Rani stops herself from saying her surname in the title song. I find it truly moving.

I totally agree :) As a retired English & Drama teacher, I personally think "good" acting requires stretching beyond (comfort zone) boundaries.

Being able to go completely opposite "type" is what teaches acting skills. You can tell how genuinely difficult this entire film is for them because it's something they struggle with throughout. I found this powerful and superbly acted.

The director was outstanding as well. You're right, this is the pivotal scene in the film. Lovely comment~

As a child I remember watching his serials like Circus, Fauji & Doosra Keval which were aired on Doordarshan (the only Indian channel in those days). You said it very right his eyes are so expressive and his acting is so natural..Now I live in SRK's hometown which is New Delhi in India..I don't know what connection you have with India or the Indian language or maybe you don't have any connection at all but still its amazing that someone so far away admires Indian Cinema/Music.

SRK has a very expressive face, especially his eyes. I honestly didn't have much knowledge of Indian films until I saw "Slumdog Millionaire". I know it was a British film, but the actors were Indian and it was shot in India. From there I found a link and as they say the rest is history. I've only seen a couple of films, but have really enjoyed them

Nice chemistry on screen and my understanding is SRK is a happily married family man. He seems genuinely nice in a very cut-throat industry. Kudos!

Maybe it's because they are so different from ours, but I've always been a "romantic" and watching these films, especially SRK's work, is like reading a great romance novel.
