Real politik with regard to information sometimes must meet on the grounds of compromise. You will find that most pubic employees are not authorized under their respective agencies to make statements to the press (most cases referring you to their supervisor). When an public employee not authorized to give statements to the press does, they are making a concession. It may be in the best interests when uncovering a story to hear them. We dont need a recording, if you are honest.
