  • My cue from your kisser is total LUST

  • MILF ALERT! Looking for some young boys, im available :D

  • No it does not mirror in us. Why we cring or feel empathy it is because in general most of us have been hurt and we know how it feels so we cring. Although with all the crap on tv it jades people so instead of cringing they laugh. Sad. Now if you were talking about human behavior, mirroring is real but not due to neurons. Itis due to social conditioning ;)

  • @akwolfsong you might enjoy reading the book I am talking about and the science under discussion in the book.

  • N somehow these people believe our design came about purely by chance, a happy mistake...... somehow we were built block by block by random chemicals n bits of rock falling together.

I feel honestly sorry for these people, even if they wont admit they understand.

  • @ShaggyTheClown17 I feel sorry for people that can't read.

  • a child doesn't even recognize itself in a mirror, nor does it understand the pain of the person. you can take a puppy and kill it and child will no feel it's pain, certainly not the same pain. these liberals are evil and they are being led by Jews. They are liars.

  • you can tell this woman is a liberal because she is so unscientific and stupid. When you see someone fall, a Decent person, imagines that they were that person, and their imagine the pain which can be graphed and observed. Not the SAME reactions. She took a jews word for it. She's a stupid liberal. she should be killed.

  • liberals can not speak for other people, liberals are in fact not people at all.

  • The subject of mirror neurons is fascinating. Considering the fact this this concept is relatively new in the academic/science/medical world, it will be very interesting to see what breakthrough's will come about in future applications as a result of these new findings. I enjoyed your commentary and thanks for the book reference. SPL

  • Hey! You're welcome! I am not on here much at all lately...so sorry for the delay. Let me know how you like that book!

  • Well described, easily understood introduction to an interesting new way of considering empathy from a biological viewpoint.

  • Thank you! I find it a completely fascinating finding!

  • @CityzenJane of course you would, it was a liberal woman passing on the lie of jew. Facinating. How " smart" of you to recognize it. You are brain dead. Proud and Dishonest.

  • @nVei06 and you're a cunt to try to make liberal and jew somehow automatically wrong.

I bet ya only pick on women don't ya?

Prove me wrong. respond. But beware for Hulk is well skilled with words.

  • very enlightening! "that art thou"

  • There is a really interesting Daniel Goleman dialogue series centering on the phenomenon of Mirror Neurons. It's called Wired to Connect and there are free samples available at morethansound dot net

  • oooh cool thank you so much!

  • I think empathy is a limited resource so to speak, and therefore Youtube will do little more than steal the limelight from TV as TV did to radio. I don't see any dramatic change happening, such as people becoming much more tolerant or empathetic or loving. Youtube as well as the Internet will however be used as a medium for propaganda of all sorts, and since it's user generated content, more points of view can be put forward.

  • good points made here. thank you!

  • Thank you :)

  • You look like me. Your face and eyes. I bet you're a relative.

  • cool - put up a pic!

  • That was really interesting ... i hope to see more Cityzenjane soon !

  • just a click away :)

  • At the moment, one main positive aspect of YT is that one is very quickly availed of the value being offered by others, and so it is very easy to determined the depth of relationship one desires to invest, unfortunately most will only give a superficial and somewhat negative picture of themselves, monkey see, monkey do, and so they deprive each other of what is actually being sought, truth.

    BL*M

  • ah! well said!

  • yes i am.

  • Can you say more about that? Is it everyone or just strangers?

  • really? not to me. i don't feel compasion to other people.

  • Are you being serious?

  • Very interesting question. I think most of us taking part in the e-culture are "overstimulated," although I don't like the word, because it implies there is some line on a stimumeter beyond which we shouldn't go. I think what we probably need is either to cut back, or develop awareness of our own processes.

I wish I had time to read. I miss reading.

  • "I wish I had time to read. I miss reading."

Right? I feel like I can't 'slow down' enough to really read like I used to...I mean I would just hold up for weeks with stacks of books...But my brain is different now it seems...

  • Thanks for the enlightenment.

  • :) thanks!

  • my mirror neurons cascade me that you are a good person. I suscribe!

  • why thank you! I appreciate that a lot!

  • Thank you again for reminding me why I subbed to you in the first place.

    Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.

    -Shan

  • Wow thank you Shan!

  • I wonder where its going to lead, maybe there will be those who have more reach to the people and there Meme's will be mirrored while the others will be forgotten therby consolidating the diversity in some form. Really no idea. But its interesting to folow. Thanks for this video, i will check out the topic your recomended further.

  • Well there is that too... there have always been very charismatic manipulators...and we are wired to absorb their influence - with the small frame of youtube, the intimacy...it could take that maniputalation to a whole new level....just look at the morbid influence of Ian Crossland..!

  • Hey, dont call my buddy "morbid" ;)

Now i think Ian actually "mirrors the mirroring" somehow, therby not really transporting new influence but rather mirroring the collective Meme's that are already there, thereby creating identification in many (from a past youth for example). If that makes any sence...in any case he is a interesting example.

  • Across the Great Crossland divide I wave dear friend-- in hopes that the atheist/theist debates do not eventually become the ianist/ainanist debates...which would be strcitly for onanists IMHO....

  • Yeah, i agree in the sence that noone should be greater than the other, mostly however its us selfs that put poeple on podestals. Why I dunno. Maybe were picky about what we mirror or the big ones just mirror best what poeple have already mirrored themselfs the most... I think youtube should shutdown the scriber display publicly , its become a human benchmarking value that devides poeple in stars and non star just like TV.

  • oooh no bad idea...that is my primary way to find other interesting vloggers! If I had to go through all the dreck here...I don't think that makes it a 'star' system... I do think being interesting is valued for good reason...

  • well yeah, seems to be there is a trend to pure entertainment though with the big ones, thats not really my thing, but everybody is different that way. Most of the people i watch are sub 500 tubers.

  • oh me too...there's only a few I watch that have a lot of subs.

  • I kinda see the over stimulation idea you described comming, i feel overstimulated already sometimes on youtube. And i cant deny that i catch myself mirroring expressions or atleast phrases of others here on the tube either.

  • This reminds me strongly of the Meme Theorie by Darkwins, (i think.)Its like exactly what you described here with mirror neurons except they extend it that these mirroring behaviours are passed along from generation to generation therby influencing evolution. Really fascinating.

  • Nature limits volition by instilling personality - where your specific inhibitors lock you into a mode of conduct. Reciprocating neurons prevents outright anarchy in the species - as with all living things - ecology for evolutionary processes. Empathy mediates through this prism of personality with dys-equal effect.

  • I should have said 'replicate in my nervous system..." as it is a full body mind experience...and 'mind' is really distributed throughout the body...

  • That's a very interesting insight, I wasn't aware of how our brains responded to input like that.

  • What happens when you see a guy get kicked in the nuts?

  • Usually I think, "As a species, we're doomed." But it's a situation where it happens by accident and no real injury took place, except to pride, then I might laugh if I'm in the mood...but usually I just think we're doomed.

  • well...I was thinking more about the visceral reaction rather than the thoughts surrounding it....but you're right we are doomed.

  • Well, the visceral reaction if it really came out of the blue and there was no lead-up would probably be an "UGH" of surprise and pain and disgust but that ugh could be replaced with an it-sucks-but-lucky-that's-not-me chuckle if it seems accidental and non-injurious. I still can't laugh at someone getting their nuts kicked on purpose. Though for guys that do it as a turn-on, I hope they do it OFTEN.

  • yt is crazy.

  • or maybe i'm crazy.

  • we're all crazy, baby.

  • Fascinating! This raises a number of questions in terms of the importance of something like YouTube... like how essential television was for the civil rights movement in the U.S., and the implications for 21st century reforms with distilled and democratized media like this.

  • yes!

essentially we are designed so that our nervous systems are 'captured' by those around us...as when someone yawns and you yawn...this apparently works with all basic emotions...I used to love horror/slasher films..and then I saw "Silence of the Lambs" and came out of the theater - far too disturbed...makes me wonder what is happening to people who are into "Saw" for instance...we love being scared, but it IS putting actual stress hormones into our systems...which is NOT good for us...
