Fed up with too many youtube adverts 2011 - Petition (please sign below)

I don't even care that much about the ads.

What I am pissed about is that becasue there is so much content now that us the user do not need but YOUTUBE wants revenue so here we have disrupting content that slows my computer to the point of stalling and glitches. Other sites I do not have a problem with just this one, FIGURES. 3 YEARS AGO NO PROBLEMS AT ALL NOW EVERYDAY ALL DAY

I totally agree with more petitions like this, but it's not just youtube that does it, just about every site I go to now is COVERED in ads. They're getting longer and more obnoxious too, it's no longer just pop-ups at the bottom of vids anymore, now I have to sit through 30-45 second ads before it will even load my video. Also some website pages even disappear and say they will be back after a short break, WTF!?!

And they even did the unthinkable, ads AFTER THE VIDEO TO! so if you want to replay the video you have 2 wait

I found a solution. If you use Chrome or Firefox, get a free plugin called AdBlock plus. It blocks all ads, even ads on Youtube videos.

Well this year the ad problem has REALLY become ridiculous! ads are popping up on every second video or even EVERY video, rendering things like music playlists virtually unusable. Even commerical radio doesn't stick an ad between EVERY SINGLE SONG!!!

now theres three on the side, 3 in the comment box, a ad banner at the top, one at the bottem of the video, one at the start of the video (that you may or may not skip after 5 seconds), ones on the side that automaticly refresh themselfs and make the video freeze and some also play their own audio. its f***ing ridiculous everybody should remove all their videos for a week so youtube will lose all their profits for the last month because noboby could watch any videos to see any ads.~~~~SIGNED

I remember when YOUTUBE would place ADVERTISEMENT on the side, next to play list. BUT NOW, YOUTUBE is placing advertising where your EYES are focusing, like inside the videos, hence forcing you to watch or engage with it by closing it, etc.

The excessive advertisement becomes a frustrating experience making them ineffective.

I'm also switching back to my Blackberry phone's old software version, the updated version is nice but it now allows ads to pop up when browsing online....sucks, too.

there should be a specified limit to the number of ads youtube can show a user in a day..like 5 adverts per day or so..

Youtube has gone way past the point of effective marketing. The frequency, the content and the bandwidth required to display them all detract from a pleasurable experience. I am not saying Youtube should not have ads, merely more forethought into them. Youtube has went from a video site to an advertising site with videos. Google you have really killed it.

Advertisers really think they are being clever when they are actually over doing it to the point that people are tired of seeing them. the only ones you tend to bother with are when they are funny or clever and then you miss what was being advertised anyhow. I've been to quizes where they've asked people to name the product for the advert described and almost no one can recall what the product is.

i used to make a playlist and chill in bed watching them.. now i cant do that because i get ads every other video not only the ads are annoying but often they are louder than the actual video, so you keep having to ajust the volume for the ads and then the video.. so whats the use in a playlist anymore?

Some ads have at least added skip in 5 secs, Those pop up ones along the bottom of the video are the ones I hate the most and they've even made it so that if you go to click on the X to close it, the advert movess up and you end up clicking on google ads instead.

Youtube is becoming too ridiculous and absurd. We all know they have to generate some advertising profits and expect to see 1 or 2 ads once in a while. However, there are adds poping every other video.

Let's choose a day and not logging to send them a message. Boycott you tube some day on December 2011.

The ones that really annoy are the ones that slow down your internet connection while they load up and those ones that pop up a few seconds into the video. When you see a serious news story about a car crash or something, you now get a pop up ad about tyres, or car sales or something related. It's just not right. Just too much brainwashing going on.

You all don't understand. Youtube has advertisements due to third party, and middle men. Youtube does not just "put" ads in there, it is a business, and is needed to effectively keep a FREE SITE to YOU running as it does.

If you don't like it, go out and buy the video you want to watch.

The ads are so annoying. Heck I'm an advertising person and even "I" am annoyed with the frequency of ads. It used to be about 5 or so videos and THEN a commercial, sure that makes sense. But one after 3-2- or 1 video? Ridiculous. I love to kick back with a youtube playlist sometimes and a frequency below a 5-1 ratio, surpasses the point of intrudability, which is not SUPPOSED to be the point of advertising... past that point and th e ads become ineffective. Highly dumb practice.

I don't mind ads on YouTube - but only static ones on the side of the screen - the intrusive ones that pop up over videos are bloody annoying (and that wasn't the 1st word that came to mind either) - I also don't like video/animations as ads either.
