cool, I wonder what it'd look like with the new one they are making :) These games have a great nostalgia, even though one never played them, but with the gameplay and graphics spoiled games this would bore the hell out of me xD although I do enjoy a good authentic rpg :p so... looking forward to it ^^
I used to speed run this game maybe 5 or 6 years ago. My time for 231 points was around 47 - 48 minutes.
I haven't watched yours yet, so maybe you used a different timing method. I'll watch your vid and find out if it's that or out strategies are different.
I'm having a search of my old files to see if I can uncover the dot-point strategy I wrote.
I only watched this first part. Time is mostly lost from not skipping text with right click super-fast and being slow with choosing actions and giving commands. One minor thing for a bonus: (yeah I know this run is 3 years old and you don't play anymore, haha, but for anyone else interested) Whenever you speak to Jollo, don't follow him out of the room immediately, wait a little while before leaving and you can save the animation of him slowly walking.
@oldrestless Holy crap, I completely forgot about Police Quest. Thanks for jogging my memory. This game was so difficult. Maybe I was tto young to understand. Computers were still fairly new to the general public. The 90's were the best.
Wow memories.. I never got anywhere with this game since the ring on the beach was near impossible to see on my crappy small TV that I used for the amiga. But I had fun swapping between those 7 or 8 diskettes that it came with though..
oh man this was the first cd-rom i ever had came with the cd-rom drive. i love the stick in the mud also first game i this genre i ever bet too thanks to the sierra hotline lol
Fantastic game! This brings back memories. Actually completed this one without cheating or reading walkthroughs. Great stuff!

I still love kings quest 1 the most on PC, the updated gfx version, also KQ5 on NES.

Cool, but not nearly as cool as showing all the interesting deaths you could get. The death messages were by far the best part of these games,

I played this as a kid. This damn game gave me nightmares. XD
Just happened to think of it again, and was courious as to how the game ends / how close I got to beating it.
No where near. I had finally stopped dieing but still didn't know what to do. XD
'Specially on that mountain. I never got the riddles. I was only like 6 though...I think..Came out when I was 2... W/e. =/

Space Quest was great, but I did not care much for the Police Quest series except for the first one.

kings quest was never a solid series. police and space were much better in my opinion.

Yeah, in my version they talked too, but there was always an option to turn it off so you can skip it faster like what they did.

I loved this game when I was younger. I was so proud I beat it without a guide (that was in the days before the internet)

Couple of tips for KQ speedruns:
-Right clicking skips through large chunks of dialog.
-Middle clicking switches between walk and last cursor used.

KQ6. An absolute masterpiece. Belongs on the shortlist of the greatest games of all time.
