  • Teenage drivers are the most inexperienced drivers on the road. That's coming from me, a teen who just got his license. Along with getting their license, there are many other life struggles that a teen goes through. I just made video on my channel that compares life to driving and gives "inspiration/information" directed to teens. Check it out on my channel.

  • You did an EXCELLENT job on this video. It's incredible to me that just over two years since it's been posted, you've only gotten 6,405 hits! Looking down the suggested videos it seems the largest group of YT users ( from tweens to seniors) don't seem to be too interested in the subject. Oh, that's right, most of them are probably guilty of doing it themselves. Congrats on a great job. I can only hope and pray that it has saved lots of lives since you posted it.

  • This is a fantastic video with a great song also. Please contact me I would love to use it for my Online Teen Driving Safety Program. Thank you.

  • Safer cars is the answer to this. If teen's were given safer car's, then they might of lived for the following reasons... Alot of new car's now have 6 air bags (Front & Side) Which can help save your life alot, also, Ford has a new technology called (My Key) Which allow's parents to control how the car will work for the teen. (For example, how fast the car is allowed to go, and how load the music is allowed in the car) And some new car's tell you when a car is ahead, and stops, if you do nothing

  • @joewillgo Safer cars is only one answer to this, and not even the first answer.

    1) DON'T TEXT/TALK ON CELL-DON'T EAT-DON'T DRINK-DON'T READ-DON'T BRUSH HAIR/TEETH-DON'T CHANGE CLOTHES-DON'T USE LAPTOP-DON'T USE FEET TO STEER-DON'T DRIVE ROUDY-DON'T CHANGE A CD/TAPE-DON'T TRY TOREACH BEHIND YOU FOR ANYTHING,OPEN ANYTHING (BOTTLED/CANNED DRINK, FOOD, CHIP BAG-CIGARETTE PKG...)-DON'T DRIVE WITHOUT A SEAT BELT. 2: DON'T GET INTO A CAR IF THE DRIVER DOES EVEN ONE OF THESE THINGS WHILE DRIVING !

  • ALL the things i listed are things other drivers, pedestrians AND PASSENGERS have seen ignorant, stupid drivers doing. The worst of it is if they do cause a smash-up, they're likely to be murdering innocent people INCLUDING FRIENDS AND/OR SIBLINGS too.

I don't know how anyone could watch this video and conclude that we need safer cars...I'm thinking you might be one of the ones who texts while you drive?

  • Very Nice Job GM, Thank you.

  • So Very Sad and Very True. We Need To Do More To Protect and Educate Our New Teen Drivers

  • There are SO MANY videos on youtube about teens who died while driving, and speed/alcohol/texting/racing/drugs usually seem to be involved. Is this teenage generation THAT STUPID, or do they just not want to live?

  • And the fact is that my dad is a scumbag because when I'm running late, he still won't give me any of his cars. He always makes up fucking immature excuse that his dad didn't give him a car when he was younger. I know I'm a good driver and I won't let anybody doubt me for a second. There are kids in my school who got into accidents, but they're still driving. And I've been trying to get a job for over a year, but they won't hire me. I can't believe how many selfish people I'm surrounded by.

  • I had my license for over a year since I was 16. Ever since my road test, I can't drive because my dad's a selfish bastard. It took me only my first attempt to pass my road test, but he still isn't convinced. He claims he never got into one accident in his life and he thinks I can't do the same. The thing is he has 3 cars and he doesn't let me use either of them. I actually NEED a car because i live the furthest away from school and there were times I was late since the bus comes too early.

  • not all teenagers are like that.. some of them are very careful when they are driving..

  • very true. but teens don't have as much experience as older drivers. this makes us a more dangerous group compared to other drivers. statistically speaking, teens are the most disproportionate group: they make up 7% of the population, but account for 14% of crash deaths and over 20% of police-reported crashes (IIHS). we have to learn, though, that we can't discourage teens from taking the wheel--we just have to encourage them to be safer about it.

  • Never been in an accident before. My method is staying as far away from teen drivers as possible. Most teens are poor drivers just from lack of experience, but add cellphones to the picture and you have a 3000lb killing machine. Teens that get pulled over for texting while driving should be revoked until the age of 21.

    :)

  • thanks for your comment! =)

however, it is true that not all teen drivers are the same. while it's true that teens are less experienced, it is a generalization to say they are all unsafe. all drivers could stand to be safer. you're right though, texting while driving is extremely dangerous, and there should be penalties for it (i'm not so sure about revoking until 21 though...)

  • @tym1200

I totally agree except for 2 things...it isn't just teen drivers, and it isn't just texting.

The video was made for a Drivers Ed class, yes, & teens need to learn about ALL potential dangers while driving. Just too bad, there are millions of experienced, grown-up drivers multitasking out of sheer stupidity. I'm like you...i keep as big a "cushion" around my car as i can, staying as far away from ALL other vehicles at all times. Ya NEVER KNOW WHO MIGHT HIT YOU! Hope your record holds!

  • This video is great I wish I could get copy of this to use in my Drivers ed class I teach.

  • am so sorry for u loss, but do know how u feel my lil bro died this new year'.. and it has been very hard on my family. i cryed so much as i was maching the video.. hopefully the video gets to a lot of teen agers.... RIP *Edward* 1/29/91-1/1/09

  • Wow. It's so weird. Our health teacher made us watch this on Sept. 2, 2008. It was the craziest thing I had this bad feeling the whole time I watched. That day when I came home from school I found out my boyfriend of 3 years was killed in a car accident. This was a very emotional video, but also very good and true.

  • wow. i am so sorry to hear that. =(

i can't imagine what you went through, i'm sure it has been, and still is, very difficult.

thank you so much for sharing your story, and for the comment. =] very much appreciated

  • to all the viewers that have posted ridiculous and juvenile comments on this page: please stop. i have removed and blocked those users, and will continue to do so. please note that i did not put this video online to create problems between youtube users, rather, to warn teens of the dangers we face each day. thanks!

  • whats the name of the song ?

  • that song is 'rain' by breaking benjamin

  • this is such a good video..im getting ready to egt my license Im excited and so scared. im afraid of what might happen

  • thanks! and don't worry, as long as you try to drive safely and watch out for those around you, you'll be fine. i learned from experience that you can't be scared to drive. it took me almost 2 years to finally get my license, just because i was afraid to. but do be safe. and good luck! =)

  • Thank you and i got my license like 4 weeks ago first 3 days a lil nervous no its fun and really comfortable to drive...what they say its 50% you and 50% the other driver just do your part and you'll be fine :)

  • congratulations! and yes, you're right, all you can control is your driving. but you still have to compensate for others too. never let your guard down. but that's good to hear. =)

  • omg im so sorry for your lose... unforchunatly i know what your going trough... me and my sister were in a care accident last november and she died and i didnt ... im doing a report on teenage driving and im going to use your video it truely shows the horror that we face everyday and i want people to know that they have to be careful on the road.... thatnk you for your wonderful video i hope more people watch it and cry as i did!
