Ah, how I wish the American girl (yes, "girl") were still this way. They sure kept we salary-earning American men working a bit harder than we do now.
I know what you mean. These knew-fangled computer graphics. These kids with their hippety-hop music so loud. Why the other day I caught a couple of those youngsters on my lawn. Can you believe it?
@lorezapocalypse Yeah, my generation, is not smart, nor do they have ANY good tastes in music and theatre. Bring back the good times in theatre and music once again!
5-Stars - I wonder did they think strict codes were going to save us from the Depression......I suppose color was too expensive to prove itself in l929 - the Wiz of Oz was only part colof in the late l930....
Yes it was in Technicolor. The only color print is locked up in a vault at UCLA and includes all kinds of Pre-Code nudity and jokes which were cut from the black and white television print made in the prudish 1950's. Someone has posted some original color excerpts on youtube. They are beautiful. Search for: "Glorifying The American Girl (1929)"
@disco79 I just made a comment on the video that you referred to. The original color scenes would have been 2-Strip Technicolor which does not show the full spectrum. It is very neat to watch, and effectively dates the material to the late 20's to early 30's. Eddie Cantor's best movies were done in that medium.
So what happened to the glorifying of today's women - no fashion to speak of and all or most of them over-weight or look like trash....yep "we've come a long way baby". What lack of fashion has done RAP music did..
