hey nice one it sounds really good but i would be scared to do that to my wave as i know i wouldn't be able to put it back together can weight to see the end results
@Jaye38UK Thanks Jaye. Yeah I don't think I could do the Wave either, it has a lot more parts than the Kick. Thanks for watching, hopefully I will put it back together soon.
Colin, try a bit of electrical tape around the jaws of the plyers when you put the leatherman back together. They should still grip enough without burring the metal. Some jewelery making suppliers sell a type of rubber paint that you dunk the plyer heads in. Puts a soft coat on them but they don't loose their grip.
Sounds like a really neat project Colin! If it were I, the leatherman would be a nice shade of purple or something that is not easy to lose and sort of unique looking. But that's just me.. : )
Looking forward to seeing how yours comes out and I hope you had a great weekend! : )
Colin, i'm not sure in your area but out here in ca. I have paid "not much" to have pieces such as those anodized and coated. The coating protects the anadizing and makes it a bit better looking as well. Now, look for places that do circut boards, they will charge the least. Or auto detailing will also have this but cost more. the colers most found are red, gold, black, blue and a off blue, closer to a grape. The cutting piece of the leatherman dies all have this one. its tuff as nails
@PHARRAOH Hi Alan, I am not sure. I would imagine there is someone in the area that could do it. But I will give this paint a try. Not expecting amazing results but it should work OK. Cheers my friend, take care/
You going to hang those pieces on some wire or a clothes hanger or something to air dry? I shall use your experience as a precursor to my own attempt, should I decide to do so. Good luck, my friend. Talk to you soon.
@sabr686 Hi Sabr. Yeah I am going to use wire and a cardboard box as a booth. Hopefully it shall work ok. Your work with these still of paints for your golf baskets gave me some great ideas. Take care my friend.
Awesome Colin,I was just thinking of doing my Leatherman sideclip. Not sure if that's the name as I had found it roadside. Not a scratch on it either, looked brand new so good for me.But anyway, love watching your reviews as you always do a top notch job.Keep up the great work Brother.
