I followed Mallard after finding out that John "Rabbit" Bundrick (ex Free/ now with the Who) did the sessions on their album "Mallard". Aladuabe is quite right, Galpin has one of the best voices ever heard; it's incredible and, just like the band, unique.
Wonderful! Mallard was always such an underrated band. These songs are quirkier than most rock, but still enjoyably rootsy. And Sam Galpin has to be one of the most undeservedly forgotten singers ever.
The singer sounds like Beefheart and Joe Cocker combined.

John did write other songs on the disc.... Get his City of Refuge disc...
It's great and Bill Harkleroad plays on the whole thing....
