Depleted Uranium is old , spent nuclear fuel .

It cant be radioactive because if it was , melting the metal down and then re-casting it to make the very heavy armour penetrating rods that go into anti-tank shells would create a fissionable critical mass !

Why dont people learn a little elementary physics and chemistry .

D U IS actually toxic , but then so are most of the metals in your household .

The penetrators tend to shatter into dust after impact and it is the toxic DUST that is the hazard

I got dissed on facebook by my family and "friends" for trying to warn them the radiation will be heading to Austrailia/New Zealand aswell.. I even sourced potassium iodate and have a distribution agreement with them and I have been trying to get people to get some because iam not making profit from it... I'm strongly against any new nuclear powerplants. But the map contaminating europe respectively the information given to this map are - pardon me - what comes out of a bulls end. The initially high radiation of iodxxx isotopes caused reasonable doses during the first few days. for months, some agricultural products must have been destroyed. today, we have in some regions of central europe high levels of long-term-radiation coming especially from caesium isotopes. some fungus should not be eaten.

What I'm thinking about is the background radiation levels on this planet. As they use more and more Depleted Uranium tipped weapons releasing radioactive particles and along with Nuclear Reactor Leaks and Meltdowns. Since Radioactive Particles can remain deadly for thousands of years, there must be a steadily growing threat to all human and biological life. Peace!

I've heard the a major difference between the Russian and Japanese reactors is that there was graphite in the Russian reactor, and it was that which exploded and jettisoned the radioactivity from the reactor high into the atmosphere.

@markymarkuss777 radiation is not visible, you need a radiation detector . what he is showing is the weather pattern, thus clouds, which may hold the radiation. since snow storm is heading over from Japan to US it's possible. never say never
