Wade (a position I don't see how any Libertarian can possibly hold). @chuckymc O.k. one thing u should understand is that we are not looking to create some utopian idea of a perfect society. Perfection is the pathway not the destination. All we want is better answers. Enlightened self interest is ultimately enriching the society one belongs to. Like take corporatism vs capitalism, if u spend u're money down the street, for cheaper prices, rather than on u're neighbor who buys from u, r u really saving money, when u r taking away from u're customer's base income?

I'm all for buying local (I think that's what you were talking about), but how does that in any way square with Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism? Please go and actually read what Rand wrote. You know she says that selflessness and empathy are considered weakness, right? I'll say it again - no society has ever been Libertarian for a very good reason - it doesn't work.

@chuckymc I was giving u an example of how selfishness can be good for society. By explaining how it is more beneficial for the individual to support his economy. I want my neighbor to thrive, cause I am selfish, and wish for him to have more resources to trade with me. Forget about Ayn Rand, no one is trying to get her elected president. We are not a radical movement, rather we r just trying to put some common sense back into government.

Where does it say anything about Libertarianism? Our rights are being trashed by the Republican party and corporate greed. We are in so much debt because Reagan lowered the taxes on the ultra rich from 70% to 28% and thus shifted much of the tax burden from the rich to the middle class!

@RonPaulIntegrity Like I said before, I have read all about Ron Paul and his platform. He is vehemently anti-abortion and would repeal Roe v. Wade (a position I don't see how any Libertarian can possibly hold). He wants to eliminate Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, do away with the Department of Education and several other agencies, eliminate corporate and income taxes, and dismantle most government as we know it. As a Democratic-Socialist, I don't agree with any of that.

The Dept. of Ed.'s focus isn't on RESULTS it is on the PROCESS. With the socialization of education students are not accountable for performance (No child left behind) or expected to meet "HIGH" standards . Education requires initiative something do-gooder mandation can't resolve.
When I have a child I will request an affidavit to stop their automatic assignment of a S.S. #. At 18 they can decide, neither the govt. nor I should make their decision before they even have a voice

Respond to this video... How does Ron Paul support the Constitution? Are you serious? He is a Constitutionalist. Look it up. Listen to what he says, he supports the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, you know, all those amendments. Have you read it? Look up Libertarianism. They support LIBERTY. Have you heard of that? @trick29420 They need a revolution like we had! A Constitution like we have, and to fight for there own freedoms. We can't fight other countries revolutions for them! The people in that country should rise up and create a government for the people by the people, like the U.S. had to do! If they don't fight and die for there own freedom, how do you expect them to hang on to it, you have to fight for it. I agree we should help them, but they have to do it themselves!

@zentricky69 You do realize that the French did a significant portion of the fighting in our own revolutionary war, do you not? At the battle of Yorktown, it was the French navy that trapped the British army, not to mention French ground forces that fought alongside American troops in nearly equal number. Furthermore, Libyan's did indeed do all the fighting on the ground in their recent war.

@libertarian4lyfe Cain appears to not be confident enough to call attention to the fact that much of the opposition were and are Al Qaida and now as interested in working with countries like China rather than the U.S. But, being a Fed stooge, Cain should know that the real reason that Gaddafi was deposed is because he wanted to establish a real African currency (not fiat) based on gold, and that would have reflected badly on all fiat currencies. And yes, Cain is a pure bullshitter.
