flood of 37' my Irish grandfather melvin took my gran round n a boat and they had to duck under the street signs in louisville ky that pretty feckin wet
This is an excellent clip. It comes from the same tv performance of Big River presented under the Anthology DVD, which I have worn out from excessive viewing. People have commented though that he is high during these performances which could be true given that he seems particularly animated during the performance.
He's admitted that he raised his head a lot more while he was high. and by the the look of how skinny he was during this period, that helps push the argument. Want everyone to know J. Cash is my foremost favorite artist.
The time in which he was "high" was a bad time for his health of course, but it also was one of his most dynamic, progressing time- many songs are from that time: This one here, Ring of Fire, I got Stripes, John Henry, In the Jailhouse now, ... many ones : His second highlight was from 1969-71, Gospel and Outlaw music was his way then and in the 90s when he worked with the Highwaymen, I think! Addiction and Love made him work the best- and June Carter's love rescued him...
Great album and great song.

Volume is really low on the video.
