You know one day in the distant future the AH-64 Apache will be retired from service... and this is the first aircraft I have ever seen that gives me the impression it wouldn't come quietly!!
@blinky123abc considering that both both rotor gunship are armed and equipped similarly that is extremely unlikely, and most likely will come down to the skill of the pilot and overall battlefield control in which the US undoubtedly holds an overwhelming advantage in standard war.
if you were comparing it to Ka-50 then that may hold more weight as Ka-50 is indeed a relatively unusual and advanced design, though it demands extremely skilled pilot due to extreme load placed on Blackshark pilots.
The AH-64D Apache Block III is in Development, it includes a Radar with double Range, more powerfull Engines, and longer Rotor's. The Maiden Flight was in April 2010, and in July 2011 the US Army get's the first AH-64D Block III Apaches.
@MrAGAINSTamerica i think you will find that that your wrong the AH-64 Apache is proven to be the most advanced helicopter in the world bearing mind that the comanche program was cancelled due to funding an insuficent need for a new chopper =) thumbs up for crappy russian scum helicopters =D and i think you will find its AH-64 not AN64 that is a russian rifle so i think that failed dramaticly :)
Most attack helis through the world who people claim that they're better than the Longbow are wrong because. the Apache is the worlds BEST COMBAT PROVEN HELICOPTER of all time
@ApacheLongbow1225 lol.. don't fucking cum all over yourself... these things are built to destroy and kill... how can you be proud of that and even make a youtube account named ApacheLongbow? i mean, seriously....
Oh really - which one is rated top in the world... which one do you always see fighting in iraq or in afganistan... In short the apache rapes your AW129.
you are not too smart r u? the blades are in fact a + they have to be to be stable. i would know, i actually work on the airframe. i have taken way too many rotor blades off to be certain of that fact. you my friend are a moron.
haha if you say so.. they are more of an X shape. Of course you work on the airframe and are an expert and really have nothing better to do with your time than go around on youtube lying and telling people they are morons. you sir obviously are a much better person than me.
are you serious? find any 15R on this site and tell them the rotors are set up on an x shape not a + and see what thy say. how am i lying anyway? just because i actually know more about them due to the fact that i work on them? the tail rotor is set up in an x but not the main rotors. if you were talkin about the tail then you were right. the main rotors are a perfect + so they are balanced.
i say ur lying cuz everyone on utube is a self proclaimed expert. lotta liars here and with a name like bong water i wouldn want you being a mechanic on my bird
Seeing as you work on the airframe i wonder if you could answer me on this - how come the tail rotor on the apache are an X - i have seen it in many photos and was wondering...
i actually posed the same question to my instructor at ft. eustis when i was going through my schooling to become a 15R and his answer was " it doesnt matter what shape the tail rotor is as long as it produces enough force to counterbalance the main rotor". im sorry that i dont have a better answer dor you, but that was the one given to me, it is an odd angle though
i asked at work and the answer is this: it is a noise to power ratio problem. the configuration of the tail rotor blades is such because if it were the same as lets say a UH-60 blackhawks tail rotor it would be way too loud. most of the noise you hear from a helicopter is tail rotor.
if you heat the apache its beacuse it ran out of ammo and is leaving but then its friend comes and kills you if you even have that kind time in between that is lololol
The Apache is one of the most advanced and proven attack helicopters ever built... Your Tiger has a long road to go before it can claim that title, and even if the Apache isn't number one anymore the Tiger still isn't as good as the Comanche would have been or some the Russian choppers.
@Prometheus203 the Tiger is the most advanced attack helicopter in the world. the technologie used by it is unmatched by any other attack helicopter in the world. thats fact.
The Hind D is my favorite helicopter for years, with it's sound and menacing look, but the Apache is so cool and out class any current chopper. I think if I was on the other side, I might poop my pants.
Another way to improve the movie would be to loose the music. I don't understand why it's so important to have music in the video. If you could hear the what the speaker is saying and also hear the great sound of the Helecopter itsself.
I'm glad that so many people now are paying tribute to the AH-64 instead of arguing about the Russian built Mi-28 Havok which all foreigners out of hatred for America think that it can beat the Apache in a dogfight. Which would pretty much be unreal.
No shit, man. I am tired of stupid "aircraft A vs. aircraft B" arguments. I tell you what - if I saw this AH-64 in front of me, live, in action, it would be one of the biggest thrills of my life. Along with any excellent piece of military hardware, which would include a Russian Hind-24.
People just get stuck in dumb arguments instead of appreciating engineering for what it is.
Plus, the Longbow is the baddest helicopter on Earth. :)
No doubt. I don't know why people are constantly arguing about how this helicopter can beat the Apache. Bottom line; no it can't. No helicopter can beat the Apache, that includes air combat, search and destroy and destroying targets on the ground.
I like the MI-24 Hind, I always have. It may be large but it can move, and the sound that helicopter generates is truly awesome.
Every helicopter is designed for a specific task. If your task is carrying lots of wounded off the battle field the Apache would be horrible. If your task is making tanks go away then it is very good. If it is looking cool that is pure opinion but IMHO they are all beautiful and incredible machines. When it comes to how well they fly I would say most of the ability comes from a well trained pilot. If your the guy on the ground being hunted both of these copters are bad news :) (RE Tiger)

Actually the Kiowa is a by far better bird for searching, then again that is why a Kiowa flies with the Apache.

That was true before the Apache Longbow C's and D's were unveiled. Also the Kiowa's needed to lase the targets for the Apache's.
