Yeah, Simon cut the ear off a priest with a sword that Jesus had told him to buy if he didn't already have one. He probably did already have one, given that Simon was Simon the Zealot, and they were an armed Jewish resistance faction.
But if you want to believe Jesus was the Prince of Peace even though he told his followers to bear arms and hung out with the Bronze Age equivalent of Al-Qaeda, you go right ahead.

Umm yeah. Dude, he told *his disciples* to buy swords and to sell their garments if necessary to buy one. Now, why would the Prince of Peace require his disciples to bear arms? And why did one of them, the one whom the Catholic church was allegedly founded on, commit an act of violence with his sword?

and what is your purpose? to say that Jesus Christ was a violent person. he could have easily defeated the priests who came to arrest him. so what would a sword do? and didnt he heal the man? it was meant to show that his kingdom was not of this Earth.

Again, you still haven't answered why a peaceful preacher would specifically order, as one of the last things he said to them, his disciples to go out and buy weapons.

If you want to get really technical about it, I would point out in the original Greek it was a "cohort" that was sent to arrest Jesus. Now in the Roman Army the cohort was 600 strong. Now, does it seem reasonable to send 600 heavy infantrymen to arrest a peaceful preacher? Does it seem more reasonable to send 600 soldiers to arrest a guy with a bunch of armed soldiers, one of whom is a known Zealot?

I would also point out that when he fed 5,000 and then 3,000 he fed 5,000 and 3,000 *adult males*. Funny that. Why did he only want a word with the men? Gosh, I can't see anything at all suspicious about a man who hung around with Zealots in occupied territory talking to several thousand adult males can you?

have you researched the culture of the time and the role of women. of course you didnt. and Matthew 14:21-"about five thousand men ahd eaten from those five loathes, in addition to all the women and children". there are many other instances including this that he preached to women and children, not just men.

i didnt study any books. i was saying that the culture of that time would have been different from today's. and yes i did read my own bible on my own. and i highly doubt you anything good is done by you!

Yeah but the feeding of the 5,000 was specifically about feeding 5,000 *men*. The women and children were put elsewhere. He didn't preach to them. Only the men. Odd that.
