Thought the race exhaust had 2 exits. 1 on the trailing edge of the lover fairing, under the foot peg and the other coming out under the taillight just like on the GP bike. Thus requiring the replacement rear end without the ceramic shield on the top
Becuase this is a V4 based on ducati's 990cc GP6. 1198 is just a oversized Vtwin... you tell me why it's better sounding. check out aprilia RSV4 that has a V4 motor, very nice sound also.

ducatisti first you need 60k to buy it its 5 times more than a jap 1k bike
and trust me the most riders who can ride dont have stock bikes so for stock its awesome but on track i dont know at least the price is much to high to buy this thing so its just interesting to watch but only a few will know how it is to ride this bike
I'm really glad you chose to share that fascinating piece of information with everyone who wants to watch the stunning piece of Italian exotica on screen. Interesting stuff...

its a nice bike but whats the use of it......... put it on the track and race against any jap made bike and see how you go...... $50 $ 60 k spent for what......
How long does it take to switch from street exhaust to race exhaust? Also since you have the race one on now isn't it not street legal? and lastly NICE BIKE
hey look no rear passenger seat to take the girls in ha ha thats great no asking can i go for a ride ha ha ya you can go for a ride with me just let me blow all the smoke up your ass from the bike ha ha
F**K me what an ignorant fool. This bike costs £45,000 you really think the people who get one of these are going to change there own exhaust when Ducati will do it for you before you collect the bike? This bike comes with 2 exhaust systems, you simply say which one you would prefer.
This is a highly and perfectly tuned race machine, this is how it sounds at low revs. Have you ever heard a Lamborghini or an F1 car when it idles, sounds like its flooding but at high revs they sing like angels.
I had the privilege of going to the testing of this bike yesterday at Kyalami, some rich guy that owns one let the media test it for a local show, FUUUUUUUUCK MEEEEE its amazing, even more so in real life
i think you mean the desmodromic engine and the lack of actual meal valve springs is replaced by a pneumatic valve opening and closing system (desmodromics). In actual fact the valve system has nothing to do with the tone of the desmosedici it has everything to do with the tuning, firing order and also exhause back pressure design. Coupled together it makes for one of the highest reving bike in the motogp paddock. These are the reasons why Yamaha,Suzuki, kawasaki have switched to pneumatic's also
@rama6maiden apart from the Desmodromic system being pneumatic Im actually pretty fuckn right having tuned enough bikes for the track !! Exhaust note is combination of all of the points i mentioned! Including displacement and exhaust design itself!
@jamesandrew2000 if youre refering to the desmo being pneumatic, read up ive already held my hands up as i got it wrong with regards to the ducati being pnuematic not the use of them in general in the motogp paddoc
@ibanezuv7 Ducati does not, or has ever used a pnuematic valve actuating system in any bike. Same goes for their MotoGP efforts. They simply have two separate cam lobes for each valve in the head. One opens it and the other closes it.
@jamesandrew2000 mate read back up !!!!! ive already said that, that i got it wrong with regards to DUCATI not using pnuematics, As for other factories in the motogp paddoc others have or still are using pnuematics.
@ibanezuv7 the valves are controlled by a "lever", instead of a spring, and that's the only reason why ducati's are able to have a high rpm without valvefloatation. If you think logically, pneumatic valves will also lead to floatation in high rpm.
Also ducati's are a V engine, while most japanese engines are 4 in line, so that's also a big difference for sound.
Sounds great! Like my VF700 Honda, but louder, and with less of a "bite" to it, but you weren't revving it up too much. Mine gets kinda snarly around 6 grand.
congrats guy! Hope you enjoy it. Sounds great, if i start now maybe my piggy bank will be big enough one of these days(probably when im so old ill have to have a trike). :)
a few bikes will always stay in your memories.for me it was the first time i ever saw an rc30 in the paddock during the tt in '88.the desmo rr will fall into this category too i reckon.i watched capirossi's 06 moto gp bike going around mondello during the bsb in '07 and it sounded awesome (even though the mope driving it barely went over 10,000 rpm).hopefully the rr will sound as good.the big question is will the 1098r be as good as it?
We need more videos! Once you've got it run in, we need to hear that thing at full chat! Hope you're not going to stow it away in a garage for the rest of its life.

Cleatus,
This was the day that the bike arrived, in a crate, all the way from the place where pizza is made. No, not goodfella's.
This motorcycle is worth more than your sisters bail bond - so, you don't go whacking it with pappy's rifle butt to fix stuff.
Lastly, these things need all kinds of electrickery stuff messed with. You can't just get your grannies drain pipes on there and hope it runs right.
You better run along now, it's almost time for your date with your cousin.
