I said that the nfl doesnt have as exciting of a schedule because its more of a fight for the playoffs than a fight to be best. a college playoff would make the college season a lot less exciting as well. i think a plus one that just had semi games of 1v4 and 2v3 would be a good idea, but anything else wouldnt go well

The most underrated team in NCAA history? Best college game ever? Nope. Watch the Miami/Nebraska 1984 Orange Bowl. And if the smaller schools are doing 'damage' why arent the coaches of those school being investigated like the big ones are? Just thought I'd throw that out there. Any multi-million dollar making sport is always grounds for skepticism.

@Kraken0987 I doubt it. I'm sure Boise would have a problem with Alabama, and we'll never know since Boise is happy playing cup cake teams for the rest of the season. Which really won't help their chances.
@OUfootballAuthority BSU really isn't "happy" about playing "cupcake" teams as you call them. They realize to climb the ladder, the rungs they use have to be sturdy opponents. However, BSU also isn't willing to just be walked on by playing at a disadvantage with these more worthy opponents. I'm hoping BSU does well enough that people can see the egregious operation the BCS has become--I know fitting a playoff into college schedules is difficult, but it should be done.

@EDJR0 Actually, the fiesta bowl picks any at large team they want. So UConn was not garuanteed a spot. Neither was OU to be honest. But if you are trying to say non BCS conrferences don't get their shot, that is rediculous. The BCS now includes every year at least 1 non BCS team. Example: 2005 - Utah, 2007- Boise, 2008 - Hawaii, 2009 - Utah, 2009 - Boise St. and TCU, 2010- TCU. Can't get more fair than that.

In response to your "Boise St doesn't play any tough teams" statement...I'd like to point out how many quality wins Oklahoma has this year. The answer is just three (playing in a power conference). I am happy for BSU and thought the game was exciting and awsome. It is definantly on of the top ten games of the decade. And Boise was deserved that game. I only asked, why does Boise always resort to trick plays, even when they are winning, instead of relying on their basic offense. And sadly, not one Boise fan has an answer.
@OUfootballAuthority Good question--and since I work 85 hrs a week w/ 3 jobs I don't frequent these sites to cover all of the comments, but I'll offer this answer: If you look at BSU's approach to football (both on O and D), they're "spicing" up the whole game. Such an approach makes it more difficult for their opponent. And if it works to their advantage (trick plays as you call them are very difficult to defend), then it helps them win game and also fans that like excitement.
@OUfootballAuthority I'm not a BSU fan but I have an answer...because #1, the trick plays work by catching the other team offguard and #2, its fun for the fans. College football is fun to watch, you know.

It pains me to see this highlight again, but it's just an amazing group of plays. I'm a die hard OU fan and I still cannot believe Chris Peterson did 3 trick plays in a row. The man has balls. He's got my respect. Absolutely the greatest bowl game of all time.
When the Broncos were on the ropes, they whipped out the ballsy types of trick plays only seen in Madden. And somehow they pulled them off with perfection. Greatest bowl game I've ever seen.
Everyone on here bashing Boise State should really just shut up. Boise state has not had the opportunity to play in the national title game or play any top 5 team such as Alabama or Florida or Texas, nor have they had an opportunity to play in a tougher schedule such as the Big 12 or SEC. Now Boise plays Virginia Tech this year as you all know, and after Boise State's performance in that game and this whole season, then we will know whether they are a title contender or not
Anyone care to know why Boise State has such an easy schedule? Boise State called big schools such as Florida, Ohio State, and other teams from the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, etc. And Boise State would even play that school at their home stadium. NOT ONE school has returned their call. So they are forced to play an easy non-conference schedule on top of an already easy conference schedule.

Second, any experienced football coach or football analyst will testify, that trick plays are a clear indicator that the coach or team running such plays, are not confident in their standard offense or play calling. Most teams use a trick play to turn the tide of momentum. Boise has to use them to win big games. That's why I'm not impressed.

The most underrated team in NCAA history? Best college game ever? Nope. Watch the Miami/Nebraska 1984 Orange Bowl. And if the smaller schools are doing 'damage' why arent the coaches of those school being investigated like the big ones are? Just thought I'd throw that out there. Any multi-million dollar making sport is always grounds for skepticism.

It wouldve been easy for an "out matched" team to lay down after zabranski's last pick. they got up and did WHAT IT TOOK to win. Either way this game marked the beginning of the end for the "BCS" which can't end soon enough. @OUfootballAuthority BSU really isn't "happy" about playing "cupcake" teams as you call them. They realize to climb the ladder, the rungs they use have to be sturdy opponents. However, BSU also isn't willing to just be walked on by playing at a disadvantage with these more worthy opponents. I'm hoping BSU does well enough that people can see the egregious operation the BCS has become--I know fitting a playoff into college schedules is difficult, but it should be done.

@EDJR0 Actually, the fiesta bowl picks any at large team they want. So UConn was not garuanteed a spot. Neither was OU to be honest. But if you are trying to say non BCS conrferences don't get their shot, that is rediculous. The BCS now includes every year at least 1 non BCS team. Example: 2005 - Utah, 2007- Boise, 2008 - Hawaii, 2009 - Utah, 2009 - Boise St. and TCU, 2010- TCU. Can't get more fair than that.

I am happy for BSU and thought the game was exciting and awsome. It is definantly on of the top ten games of the decade. And Boise was deserved that game. @OUfootballAuthority Good question--and since I work 85 hrs a week w/ 3 jobs I don't frequent these sites to cover all of the comments, but I'll offer this answer: If you look at BSU's approach to football (both on O and D), they're "spicing" up the whole game. Such an approach makes it more difficult for their opponent. And if it works to their advantage (trick plays as you call them are very difficult to defend), then it helps them win game and also fans that like excitement.

They don't have a good QB like they normally do (Heupel & Bradford) so for this season and maybe next, they won't be on the scene. It wouldn't surprise me if Ponder and the Noles beat them by two touchdowns or more. Also, BSU could easily handle a harder schedule. I just watched them beat VT, which should've been a bigger win. So you execute it and make a TD. Then you're down a TD and you're 4th and 2, so the line is looking for the run, but you throw a TD. Then to stick the fork in the pig, you go for 2 to win the game by faking to the right and handing off to the left for the 2 points. There's an obligation to inform the other team? DUH!

Everyone on here bashing Boise State should really just shut up. Boise state has not had the opportunity to play in the national title game or play any top 5 team such as Alabama or Florida or Texas, nor have they had an opportunity to play in a tougher schedule such as the Big 12 or SEC. Now Boise plays Virginia Tech this year as you all know, and after Boise State's performance in that game and this whole season, then we will know whether they are a title contender or not

Anyone care to know why Boise State has such an easy schedule? Boise State called big schools such as Florida, Ohio State, and other teams from the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, etc. And Boise State would even play that school at their home stadium. NOT ONE school has returned their call. So they are forced to play an easy non-conference schedule on top of an already easy conference schedule.

@DTA609 First off, learn to spell. That way when you call someone a dumbass, you don't make yourself look like one. Second, any experienced football coach or football analyst will testify, that trick plays are a clear indicator that the coach or team running such plays, are not confident in their standard offense or play calling. Most teams use a trick play to turn the tide of momentum. Boise has to use them to win big games. That's why I'm not impressed.

@DTA609 I congradulate true Boise St. fans, but not arrogant assholes like you. Just because your team won two Fiesta bowls, doesn't mean they are the shit. To get respect, you have to play tough teams on a week to week basis and do it without trick plays. So tell me, how is that never getting to a NC game working out for ya? So you keep clinging to those two BCS bowl wins to deal with your insecurities of Boise never truely matching up to big time opponents.

BSU came from nothing, a city, came from no where, to beat TCU and Oklahoma, in the matter of a few years they went from a college team that costs $10 to see a game, to a huge sold out arena each time now, with fans nationwide, playing in two bowl games and winning both, and both games going down in history.
