The more I learn about Mr. Johnson, the more I am convinced that he was not above involvement in the JFK assassination. The man let nothing stand in the way of his becoming President or anything else he wanted. Read the Robert Caro trilogiy on LBJ, and you may think this, too.

The books are called Path to Power; Means of Ascent; and Master of the Senate. The part of MOA about the Box 13 scandal is the most enthralling historical narrative I've ever read. I recommend that you read all three. LBJ had his good side,, too. But man, he was ruthless.. Wherever he was, he had to have power - no matter what.
Can't agree with you more. After being Senate Majority leader for so long, VP was a big step down. Johnson wanted to be in the thick of things and be in charge. After reading about the way he manipulated so many Senate votes, I must conclude that he was a genius, though often an evil one quite often.

JFK had Johnson out of country alot of the time cutting ribbons, just to keep him out of Washington.
A person that hungry for power must have hated cutting those ribbons.
It is easy to see how much Johnson hated the kennedys, he was a nothing VP.

He himself had said before he would never take the VP job, then he took it.
Johnson's mistress said the plot to kill JFK was planned at the Dem. convention.
