  • Coming July 2012:

    "APOCALYPSE"

We've Got No Choice--We're Gonna Have To Kill God!!!

  • 3:33 JIZZED

  • DIE PLANET EARTH

  • 2012 wins. People see disaster movies for the special effects, not the plot. That is why 2012 is the best disaster movie. I'm not saying it's best movie overall.

  • they make it seem like Earthquake is better than The Towering Inferno.... it isnt

  • Deep impact+armageddon+day after tommorow+knowing= best disaster movie ever!

  • i found the mindfuckiness of Knowing and the effects of 2012, but i'm a ravenclaw at heart, so i sunk more into Day after Tomorrow

my dad's favorite was Independence, but for my generation's effects, it was rather blasse(though probably the only one with much of a plot)

  • For me The day after tomorrow is the ultimate disaster movie not 2012

  • Deep Impact is the best!!!!

  • @Archeops531 no best one is armageddon. it wipe the floor with deep impact

  • Oh well as long as it produces cash by the millions, studios will keep squeezing the same sponge over and over.

  • Storyline for 2012 was crappy. Special effects were amazing!!!

  • The day after tomorrow was EPIC

  • movies inspired by the prophecies of the Apocalypse

  • 2012 was the crappiest disaster movie i've ever seen.

  • @montotosk it was sooo disappointing, CGI was awful too, think it could have been made better if it was made during the 90s

  • @montotosk no plot, but kickass effects

  • Ok, what the eff is it that's coming down from the top of the picture at around 1:31? It looks like a cellphone falling in slow motion. I've been wondering about this ever since I saw Independence Day.

  • @parasite3 that... is a good question... It sort of looks like a smartphone... But.. Its 1996.. To research!

  • No. 2012 illustrates the end of the world according to Rolan Emmerich. Not the the Mayan Calendar.

  • I think the music made this video far more interesting than it would´ve been without. Anyways, 2012 and Knowing are two very good films :)

  • Now you have Godzilla's return in 2012... that's what REALLY the Mayans were predicting... and its not Roland Emmerich's Chicken/Iguana-ShittyZilla either... Humanity will have no chance this time when Gojira returns... XD

  • Some very impressive footage. I liked Deep Impact and Armageddon, Knowing was a smart film, Day After Tomorrow and 2012 were both dumb.Nothing dumber then The Swarm. Posidon and Towering Inferno both had a lot going for them. Enjoyed Independence Day. Volcano and Earthquake were both so so .

  • gee after seeing all that I might as well go and blow my fucking brains out.

  • from all these movies i say armageddon was the best

  • *sigh*. Lame video. No real information here.

  • Mojoooooo

  • @TheAtlanticDan thats wat i was think and theyre proper name is lava bomb

  • the core is the best

  • In all Disaster movies Ive seen, I have yet to see The Leaning Tower of Pisa collaspe, am I wrong or is there a movie out there, with the destruction of this tower?

  • @CutlassGuy99 Hm! I don't think there is! In Superman 3, an awful movie, Superman pushed the Tower upright but that's as close as its come. ???

  • 2012 was probably labeled "Ultimate Disaster Movie" because it was a disaster. That movie was terrible!

  • @ImCaliforniaGrown i so agree. For me its deep Impact and independence day :)

  • @matthe104 Naw, I love 2012. But they are both good and I especially like how they're both done by the same director, Ronald Emmerich. Yeah! He knows his disasters! Let's just not mention Godzilla though. : P

  • FANTASTIC! Excellent clips and an excellent commentary. Wonderful Job!

-They did mention the 70s disaster films but they should have mentioned the Airport movies at that time. There were three or four of them, I think!

-But I will agree with 2012 - I don't know how it can be replaced, unless something BIGGER comes along. I have an old sci-fi book called Catastrophes, and it's one of my favorites. It has stories including destruction of the galaxy and the entire universe.

  • Even though this isn't a disaster movie...I thought AvP's ending disaster scence was epic. I thought it was cool how they made a real model of the town being destroyed by a massive bomb earthquake

  • One funny thing is that when she says that Independence Day replaced practical effects with CGI, they show a non-CGI effect. (That exploding tower was a real model).

  • @MareTranquil Yeah, I noticed that. But then they did show the Huge Spaceships and Fighters and I do believe some of those were CGI.

  • HEY disasters fans take a look on my channel it will contain many disasters videos, see my channel's disasters promo now

  • 2012 looks AMAZING!

  • @IanEduardoMeneses Have you seen it? It's pretty good. Everytime I whatch it I wish it was longer.

  • @IanEduardoMeneses It IS amazing. Check it out! But man, it was so much better on the big screen when you could FEEL the rumble of the earthquake in your chest. Awesome!

  • they forgot about TWISTER

  • lol the old man did not see the flood he flow away

  • Knowing is the best!

  • @matthe104 I agree with you! The Day After Tomorrow will ALWAYS be better than 2012!

  • Anyone else notice the GARGOILS or however you spell it @2:40 minutes. Now what do you see in the DENVER AIRPORT? Gargoil in a suitcase jumping out. DO THE MATH PEOPLE!!

  • @Joel0277 What math?

  • ....... wht about titanic D:

  • I downloaded a 15 GB pirated Blu-ray of the movie 2012 and saw 20 minutes and thought "What a load of SHIT!" and then erased it from my hard drive.

  • The ending of On the Beach (1959 movie) was the most depressing and poignant disaster movie I've ever seen. Sure, it was slow and boring but the last scenes of the ppl lining up to get their suicide pills cos a radiation cloud is drifting down from the nrth hemisphere is spooky. The US sub leaving to attempt to get back to the US is pointless and depressing. That's why I avoided The Road recently. But I do like a disaster movie that starts AFTER the disaster.

  • @portantwas That was excellent! (And bleah on the remake.) That's a genre that's never included in Disaster Movies but there are some superb ones: Nuclear War. The Day After and Threads, By Dawn's Early Light, the War Game (Not to be confused with Wargames.)

Threads, I think, is one of the greatest disaster movies ever. Realistic, powerful, and it will make you bawl your eyes out. It's nuclear war in Britain, check it out!

  • @TheRadical42 I remember Threads! Very realistic. Was a big TV event even here in Australia. Forgotten most of it but will check it out again (if my nerves can take the strain). Same with others - I remember The Day After as well.

Funny they didn't mention any of the Virus movies (although many are crap).

  • about that who we did see here

  • this its the movies i have seen: indenpandence day, dantes peak, the day after tomorrow and 2012

  • whats the bid fuss with 2012 it isn't as good as half of those other films

  • Armageddon was best of them

  • 3:24 So true, 2012 IS the ultimate disaster movie.

  • Where are:

    Poseidon

    The Perfect Storm

    Titanic

    Flood

    :|

  • @evilkraanvogelz Yeah, they missed a lot of them. Titanic is the Number Two movie of all time, and there's MANY versions of the story as well.

Still, for a three minute summary I thought they did a good job!

  • What movie is at 1:27??

  • Independence day

  • @frank12364

    Independece Day

  • i saw the 2012 today and it was sad in alot of parts

  • @123brokehearts i know :( i cryed at the part where the indian family died :(

  • LOL@ 31 seconds in...Biggest Talent!!!

  • I am not impressed with the whole idea behind 2012.

It is a Mayan myth... and the science behind it is absolute silliness.

  • I totally aggree! But the movie does look pretty badass!
