Might as well compare motorcycle with a bus.... why not compare cars from same class? @derbigpr500 hmmmm "derbigpr500" must mean total jackass, cause unless you are dumb or stoned, you'd realize that the S197 gen mustang has been laying a beat down on the 997 on the professional race track since 2005. That's spec cars, little different from the factory. Second, C/D are hostile to ford, always have been, why would they say a GT500 is as fast if it wasn't? Thirdly, and you're not going to know this: the track is one of the toughest technical tracks in the world: VIR "Grand" config.

balance of the car.. wheelbase and everythng plays a great role on the cars cornering skills

the 135i has the same twin turbo 3 liter as the 335i so it's not the engine

well the 135i also gets worse gas mileage, so I'd image that it's gear ratios could be shorter (which affect performance). or its turbos could be tuned differently. the 335i I would think has a tighter suspension. In fact, it could be none of these things or all of them (or a mix). in any case, the answer to that question is probably complex, why don't you ask BMW?

by the way, what exactly is the 335i three seconds faster in (in other words, where are you getting this from)?

Ya, I knew some would catch that. This test is based on price(stupid but necessary). Value, for some reason seems to matter. The GT-500 is a joke to Ford freaks like myself. My Gt-350 with 21st century tires and good fuel runs almost the same exact numbers at the strip and will out corner the 500pigmobile. Go figure.......

it does make sense and isnt really stupid. when someone has X amount of dollars to spend on a car, they wanna get the most from their money. It just goes to show how much hp per dollar u can get with american cars, its great. You could spend X dollars on a BMW with 300hp or the same on the GT500 and get 500hp.  I know power's not everything tho. But they are bargains. Your right tho, the GT500 is a total fuckin porker lol. Thats sweet u got a gt350, take care of that one:)
