would buy a Treasury Bond at X% interest knowing that inflation is likely to be over 700% in four years. That would amount to quite a sever negative yield. There isnt even a large enough money supply to buy this large an amount of bonds unless foreign currency holders of equal stupidity decide to buy them. However, the few domestic purchasers you could find would have the effect of temporarily removing money from circulation and thus would reduce current inflation in exchange for more later on.

China is now the world's largest producer of gold. If they put all their annual production on the world market I believe it'd drive the price down to about $200 per oz & they don't wanna do that.
I believe they're also now the world's largest exporter of gold jewelry, but they don't wanna see gold go over $1000 as that'll put many craftsmen out of work as sales will sharply go down as ppl switch to silver, etc.

I think they're being controlled to a large extent by China.
China is now the world's largest producer of gold even thou they still use primitive methods (production should really go up if they can get US technology).
China is an exporter of gold, but they prefer to do that in the form of gold jewelry.

The inflation will actually be much worse not less for those that think inflation on this scale isn't possible. This is because much of our currency has been held by the Chinese. They will dump them as they begin to realize they are becoming worthless. Other reserves from GB, France etc are also heavy in dollars. This will compound the inflation even more. Expect hyper-inflation on a scale you couldn't even imagine. High price to pay for what would likely have been a short recession.

There are limits to what can intelligently be cut from Defense spending. I wont debate what that limit is. Some would even profess zeroing out the Defense budget. PAYGO is simply a rule applied to Congress requiring any spending bill (Constitution mandates the House of Representatives must create such a bill----Note you seem to be unaware that the House is in charge of gov spending not the former President you are so fond of blaming) be paid for at the time the spending bill is signed into law. It is NOT a balanced budget amendment. It merely states that spending bills must include provisions for how they are going to come up with the funds.

Well, what do you expect? I am sure he is trying, but Obama is only human (which is ironic considering how many of his detractors refer to him as a god, I assume with scarcasm) and there is only so much his administration can do at any given time. In the meantime, just try to hang on and do what you can to improve your situation. You cannot depend on the federal government to fix all problems, you can only hope that the elected officials do not create new ones.

Does anyone else notice that he is the President that most relies on his teleprompters? That cracks me up. And what's this about health care? Surely a bright young an like him isn't foolish enough to fall for that. Same with the environment. He actually believes that global warming is happening? Are you serious? Keep in mind that the average temperature difference between the present and the ice-age was only ten degrees. A world wide increase of two degrees is actually fairly signifigant.
