  • The Three Stooges in color is terrific for Blu-Ray

  • I used to wonder how the people at Legend Films could sleep at night, spending their days destroying the classics. Then I realized the reason...MONEY. They got into this business for the money...not love or respect for the classics. The folks at Legend Films should be ashamed not only of what they're doing, but the lies they tell about WHY they're doing it.

  • The funniest Jews I have ever seen !!!

  • yeah what an improvment

  • at 0:20 when i saw it in B&W I imagend them as a different color

  • @Bstacker1 i ment there outfits

  • They could of been called the four stooges if Shemp was there back in 1934 when they first started

  • That's cool!

  • did you see the slap at the end? lol

  • I've gotten into many arguments with my friends over this subject, I personally like it, it is done very well and adds a new perspective to the comedy. Not to mention it adds a bit of clarity, in that you may notice things in the shot that you never paid attention to before, etc. They've done their research to get the colors as accurate to the original filming colors as possible, too, and I hope to see the rest of the shorts put out in color soon! Those who want the B&W can still find them.

  • Now in Crayola!

  • Some of those colors look a little bright!

  • Yes they are a bit bright, but they do look like technicolor in places.

Plus if you watch the making of feature on the DVD, they talk about how the colorists went to great length to research the period. Things like what color a particular coffee tin were seriously researched.

It not the random crappy colorization process Ted Turner used in the 80s

Plus this collection features commentary by "The Film Crew" AKA MST3K alumn Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo), and Bill Corbett.

  • There are some shows that should remain in B&W.

    Three Stooges

    Little Rascals

    Honey Mooners

  • Laurel & Hardy and Abbott & Costello too!

  • 0:30-I always loved when Moe did that!!! Sort of a nose flick!!!

  • color on the three stooges looks asweome!!

  • Though it probable has many people who will refuse to even think of colourizing the classic stooges, I personally think it adds a nice alternative look to the trio and gives a hint as to what it must have been like to see them live on stage during that time. Also, with the only 'true' colour Stooge programs being produced during their later career with Curly Joe, it's nice to see the gang in colour at the time when they were in their heyday.

  • those suits are so colorful look like they're wearing "now and laters"

  • That's what it was really like

  • im a fan of the 3 stooges that i managed to get approx 37 hrs of all their movies (including a few of their full length movies) on dvd. theres 24 discs in the collection and is a must for 3 stooges fans.

  • Love this! I USED to be against coloring of black and white films, but not now, not when you have a choice like on these films.Just ordered the 3 Stooges and Little Rascals set, and i have the Lucy on backorder! After the October releases i will get all the Bela Lugosi they offer!Way to go Legend Films!

  • I love the 3 stooges seems like Malice In the Palice, sing a song of 6 pants, & disorder in the court are the top 3 most popular shorts

  • There is a reason for that.

Those shorts fell into the public domain, so they are free to use on a dvd. In addition to that, I think they are some of the best shorts available too. There are a lot of great stooges shorts, but those public domain shorts really excel in every way.

  • One of the Stooge's earliest pieces really was in color.

I thought I wasn't going to like seeing the Stooges colorized, since I grew up watching them in black and white on TV in the late 50s and onward, but colorization gives them a new feel--their humor still feels contemporary, and the colorization seems to emphasize that.

  • "One of the Stooge's earliest pieces really was in color."

Right... Nerd-sery Rhymes with Ted Healey and Bonnie Bannel
