  • an Uprev tune on the modded one will bump it another 15whp at least. and that's throughout the powerband and not just peak. My G gained 20whp throughout after tuning the ECU.

    20whp is a good 1~2 cars length difference.

    If true, then that's simply amazing. My Civic Si got like 3hp increase from intake. HR is a whole nother level though.

  • this is because of the displacement, i doubt its 20 horses, but you will gain a lot more horsepower with simple boltons with larger displacement

  • i dont think its that much. bolt ons dont do much for this car. somehow the HR motor manages to have more restrictions to begin with. i know people who have changed the Y-pipe on their DE to the HR one and although it sounds like an HR, theyve actually lost power on a dyno

  • wow that sucks to lose power unless you got a better power curve.

  • yeah idk what the power curve was like but im pretty sure they lost something like 7whp...sounds better IMO though

  • @unknownally Yeah I hear ya on that one, a friend of mine also has a Civic Si and showed me this vid and explained to me about the HR and I was like wow really?. What year is your civic if you don't mind me asking?

  • modded, lol...slightly bolt on with no tune i wouldnt call modded, stock ecu is pretty restrictive..he may have 10 horse on u yeah...its a drivers race just like when u see a DE beat or hang with a HR its cause the driver..yes the bolt on z should win never said it shouldnt, but u have a pretty good chance of beating him also with perfect driving and him slipping a little, mostly from a dig though..he should get u from a roll

  • The HR is unlike the DE. You add an exhaust to a DE and you might gain 10hp. You add an exhaust to an HR though, and the damn thing gets like a 20hp increase.

  • I don't have the exact range/numbers, I was just trying to convey how much better it does with simple bolt-ons than the previous gen, which is what I have. I have a 2003 350z and a boosted tC.

  • drivers rac... from a dig yeah, but two HR z's starting in the same gear in a roll... look how the modded one pulled.

    and if you look at flodhhi1's other videos you can tell hes not a crap driver at all.

    I agree, the modded Z was pulling when it was on the throttle, not when the stock one was shifting or anything.

  • i understand what you mean, but at the very beginning of the video when they are both flooring it, clearly the modded Z is making more power b/c look how it just takes off..
