I definately prefer the album version, the vocal distortion gives it a great Strokes-y feel. But I suppose it needed to be done to make it radio friendly!
I just read an interview and I think another reason they changed the vocals and effects and stuff is because Darren hates comparisons to The Strokes. Well there you go.
