Maybe if you want to do something quicker, you can put out some covers or re-works while you write your own stuff in the background. I'm sure there's a ton of songs your voice would be suited for, and when you are ready, you can put out some of your original songs as well. Even pros do covers (and some really badly). It's easier, takes less time, keeps fans interested until you've polished whatever you are writing in the mean time.

@Cossbysweater I enjoyed that movie as well, but the whole point of the movie(and book) is that ultimately it IS what you are like, not what you like, that defines you.

You have quite a beautiful talent I hope you continue to strive doing what you love. Even though I'm still quite a young guy (16) I believe it is those who can look back on their past lives and think that they enjoyed what they did but still realize what was bad then as well are the ones who are great and needed in society. Even when people may tell you that what you do isn't the way to go you should always tell them that they'll see when your great. Because to be great is to be misunderstood.:)

I would tell past me that I get to live in a home with two awesome cats, a gumball machine from the Blockbuster, a crate of nerf guns, and that I still get to watch cartoons and eat kids cereal when I'm 20. I'll leave the youtube stuff out so she will write songs for herself and not just for others.
