  • I lost the tape that had this flick on it.I hope it is on utube. The lead ended up "The FBI"(A Quinn Martin Production)with Efram Zimbalist Jr. in its third season.

  • Just give me the bitches

  • "The Thing That Couldn't Die" - Well, did they actually TRY to kill it??? It seems they're just standing there watching that damn guy laying in that coffin!

  • bought this disc some time back (the MST3K version) and am watching it - turns out it's about walter raleighs head, i was like 'what'...

lolwut?!?! i wonder what the idea was, when the film makers decided on that plotline, "i've got an idea for a horror film - you know that Elizabethan explorer guy..."

  • Trailers like this make my life whole <3

  • 0:32 its head

  • I saw this film twice when I was a kid! I love these 1950's Universal horror films( the Monolith Monsters, the Creature, Tarantula, etc.)! I don't remember very much about TTTCD, but I thought it was a pretty decent film! I don't understand the woefully low rating (2.7) it has at IMDB.com!

  • damn i love this kind of trailers

  • I saw this on Creature Feature when I was about 10 or 11- scared the heck out of me- the only one of the B horrors that ever did- wish it would come out in DVD!

  • In other words a old school zombie kind of.

  • Nothing can stalk the earth simply because it can sue it!

  • So is it The Thing from another planet, the thing from fantastic four, godzillav s the thing, the adam's family thing, or the thing that couldn't die?

  • does it die in the end?

  • @dcsportsdc lol

  • hey people remember reading in the old t.v. guide when these old classics were gonna be on the late, late, show and getting the popcorn ready the old bottled cokes ready for these old movies?

  • I know the voice of that announcer.

  • @Kinemacolor SOunds like the veteran voice actor Paul Frees.

  • @efrem1 I think you're right.

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Comment removed

  • Eh, it's just Keith Richards

  • the thing that couldnt die starring the smell of lady Ga Ga s underwear

  • 2 of the stars in this movie are in the best episodes of the Twilight Zone

William Reynolds (Purple Testament) and headless dude (Howling man)

  • A classic film directed by Will Cowan.

  • The "Burger King guy" is an actor named Robin Hughes. He had a look that was kind of sinister, so he ended up playing bad guys, even playing Satan in some roles. I was unable to find the movie online at this time (10/29/2010). Maybe later. It is on Youtube right now as an MST3K movie.

  • I know what evil that THING IS!---- MARXISM!

  • well your link does not "link" to share on FB

  • Gonna see Miss Liza ... goin down to Mississippi...

  • I saw this on a late-night "B movie Horror Show" when I was young and it scared the hell out of me! I've been trying to find it either on DVD or online to watch somewhere. Does anyone know if it's available anymore? And yes, the head TOTALLY looks like the Burger King dude, LOL!

  • @EABeaudry Same here! Something about that disembodied head silently mouthing was really quite disturbing. I couldn't look out my bedroom window at night for weeks after I first saw this film! I too have been trying to locate it. If I have any luck, I'll let you know.

Yes. The Burger King is just as creepy!

  • The Thing Couldn't Die

    Why?

    Poor thing:'(

  • This was featured on an episode of MST3K.

  • it's not the Burger King guy, IT"S TINY TIM.

  • it's not the Burger King guy, IT"S TINY TIM

  • This is a weird question, but does anyone by chance have an MPG-2 version of this trailer?

  • I act out a scene from this film over and over again - the scene where she slaps a guy really hard after kissing him, says "You sentimental FOOL!" and then laughs, maniacally as she throws her head back...I love it! Lol!

  • I used to see this all the the in the early and mid 70's hosted by Dr. Shock in Philly

  • An early warning film about Viagra. "The THING that Wouldn't Die!"

  • i remember this came on the sci fi channel about 16 years ago. it scared me to death lol

  • Heee....Heee.. this is hilarious...I must have missed this one...I thought I saw all of the horrible sci-fi/horror movies from the fifties.. (well in all fairness there were some good ones too)

  • I first watched this movie back around '67-'68. I was 8 or 9 at the time and it scared the mud out of me. My bed was right under a window and I would fall asleep with the light on. I have a DVD copy of this movie and watch it ever so often. I love it still.

  • When defilement itself is not enough... "defile them with HORROR!"

  • @genericmeatunit I loved this movie! It definitely needs a DVD release, that's for sure.

The "head" is played by Edward Mulhare, who later was the ghost on "The Ghost And Mrs. Muir."

And this movie should be a warning that YES, a little head CAN hurt you, it can KILL you (oops, better beat it after that one...) ;-)

  • @Shawnster65 - so true. And yet, every year, millions of men risk their lives and their sanity... just looking for a little head.

  • Not to mention risking their presidency, lol

  • Is this the sequel to, "The Thing That Wouldn't Leave" (with John Belushi)? (LOL!)

  • @tripjet999 - knowing those elizabethans and their time-travelling, probably yes

  • A great movie indeed! A very nice MST3K one to ;)

  • is it me or does every cheesy sci-fi trailer have paul frees doing the voice-over? for the uninitiated, paul is most famous for the ghost host track for the haunted mansion at disney

  • Looks like an interesting movie. Is it me, or does The Thing's head sorta look like the Burger King guy?

  • @YungReg88 I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YEARS BUT NEVER KNEW THE NAME OF THE MOVIE....IT'S HAUNTED ME SINCE A CHILD!

  • @YungReg88 Ahhh BURGER KING GUY! LOL! EXCELLENT!

  • the movie was good but the ending was kind of a letdown

  • Attack Of The 50 Foot Vagina

  • So thats what that was last night...

  • @TheGringoLoco theres a movie i'd like to see

  • @TheGringoLoco whoa just made for me

  • @TheGringoLoco lady ga ga drawers

  • I love this film!

  • I should make my cousin watch this. He has an intense fear of living severed heads. Well... the idea of them, anyway.

  • He must love the movie the Thing then. lol A severed head with spider legs.

  • Even better, because he has arachnophopia, too. XD

  • Then your cousin would LOVE

    "The Brain That Wouldn't Die"...

I'm sure there's a trailer here at the site for TBTWD somewhere. Make sure your cousin dosen't "lose his head" when he sees it ;) Peace \m/

  • heh

Nicely done. +1 to you sir.

  • +2 :P

  • It's based on a true story

  • sorry??

  • i remember watching this on creature features.

  • Creature Features WNEW 5 in New York, or one of the others. I grew up with the one in New York even though I lived in NJ, thanks to the great reception we had.

High up on a hill+rotating antenna=GREAT reception. Fun days before the advant of cable...

  • I lived In NY in the 60s thru mid 1990s, and loved CREATURE FEATURES(Channel-5,WNEW-TV), CHILLER THEATRE(Channel 11 WPIX-TV, FRIGHT NIGHT(Channel 9,WOR-TV, the 4:30 movie(Channel 7,WABC-TV, and Channel 2(WCBS-TV) also showed all the great SCI-FI classics of the 1950s thru the 1970s), not to mention all the gret British SCI-FI, on Channel 9 and 11, Gerry Anderson, DOCTOR WHO, etc.

  • I remember it all, man, and thanks for bringing back the extra memories! :- )

4:30 Movie on ABC had Monster Week, and Chiller and Fright Night were accented by commercials for the horror films of the day when they paused for commercial breaks.

So we got to see the movie(s) of the day and also got to see the commercials for the ones that were up and coming.

    Space:1999 on WPIX 11 too-that was tops!

  • You are a 'homeboy'! This is what I remember too growing up in NY/NJ. We were the first to get cable TV when we moved from NY to NJ...so we could get the NY shows you mentioned. I miss this. Only MST3K came close. (It was more fun!!)

  • @Beamshipcaptain Sorry, "Nightmare Theater "on tv7 in Seattle was the best !

  • "... and every man becomes a monster!" COOL! I wanna' become a depraved brain-sucking zombie from Planet Lahzzuh-Secks!

  • This scared the heck outta me when I was 5. While I watched this movie with my mom and grandparents, a thunderstorm raged outside. At the exact moment when Gideon Drew's head opened its eyes, lightning struck the lines outside, and the lights on the street went out. Couldn't watch this movie for years because of that!

  • Wow, that's kinda cool.

  • OMG! I FINALLY FOUND IT!!! I've been telling my friends about this movie but I didn't know the name of it. It really left a lasting impression on me as a kid watching Saturday afternoon Monster Matinee!! It's funny because I told my friends I don't like Burger King because the guy dressed like the king reminds me of the head in that movie!! CREEPY!!!! Now if you're reading this, you'll think of this movie every time you see the Burger King commercials!!! haha!!

  • i love this film. i saw it when i was like four. it scared me very badly! lol! my cousins and i used to re-enact it all the time at our grandmother's house!

  • god i just love these old and sort of cheesy movies!

  • sort of cheesy?

  • definitely paracinematic.

  • I love how at the end you can see the guy's ear who is holding the head. lol

  • The MST3K version you can find on here is not to be missed.

  • Absolutely! One of their most overlooked episodes in my opinion. "They took my traysure and I feel displaysure!" Also, I love how the trailer gives away about 80% of the plot points. :)

  • how can i get this movie on dvd

  • i got my copy from creepy classics!

  • I'd like to know who's doing the Voice Over for the trailer. It Sounds like the same guy who did the VO for "Hardware Wars". Great voice for this!

  • The Voice is the great Paul Frees.

I the Crimson Skull know. Bluahahahhaahhaaaa..

  • The trailer is more interesting than the movie itself.MST3K did an excellent job riffing on this..

  • no matter what they show, the music just makes me think of Uncle Scrotor attacking.

  • AWESOME! Thanks for posting all of this suff! As a kid growing up from 1965-1975, I seen my fair share of Saturday late nite Shock Theater/Creature Feature monster movies on TV! LOL

  • Ha ha! Great stuff.
