@JameyChaCha by how many streets do you think? I live in tuscaloosa and im trying to mentally compare this to ours and I know satallite images pretty well
Hi, I'm working in my thesis, that's about storms and I would really appreciate if you tell me what software you used... or maybe you could teache us how creat this kind of animation with a video in youtube.
I am trying to figure this out. It looks to me like some of the vortexes came not to earth from above but spun up from the ground. I count seven vortexes and in the main vortex at least four vortex feeding into it. The people in the gas station store believe they were hit four times and from the video there seems to be at minimum two hits and likely a third. I hope one day those who are in a position to conclude what happened can issue an explanation of this extraordinary event.
@allisonandysarah You can find the kmz file at Google Earth Blog main page. Sorry I cant give you the URL. YT is blocking it. Just Google Google Earth Blog. Apparently you need a custom viewer for the kmz file. I downloaded it and windoze didnt know how to handle it.
@Shackamaxon@Shackamaxon YT is indeed blocking the URL That's just wrong. For those who don't have the KMZ file, go to June 3 on the Google Earth Blog (easy enough to find)
To view the KMZ: Download Google Earth
Once Google Earth is installed - File / open and browse to the KMZ file and it will load up and zoom to the area.
You can tilt / pan / zoom in Google earth to simulate the YouTube video. If you look in the Places area, there's even a link to run the auto generated tour.
The tornado needed some supplies before wreaking havoc.

According to this, my home was inside the main funnel. Pretty sure I would have noticed that. This 3D model is inaccurate.

@JameyChaCha the 3D model actually shows the thunderstorm that made the tornado

anyone who watches TWC knows pink also means hail, so those smaller ones might have been hail cores or something
