The prosecutor is perfectly right to establish that there will be only ONE defense opening statement, only one defense closing argument. And the defense says it will have only one attorney per witness - it doesn't matter which attorney does the speaking as the defense says.
Point is we should be educating American citizens who speak our language not importing those who refuse to learn to speak our language. How does an "educated" attorney paas all the classes with out proper pronunciation and speech?
It seems we are making short cuts to push minorities through while those who can speak and write our language are turned away from law and medical schools.
Educate from with in. This is not an area of out sourcing that we need.
@Sodiumreactor: The dog handler could be charged with falsifying a dog alert and perjury. The other officers could be charged with arrest without probable cause since they relied on hearsay that the dog alerted.
Of course none of this alters the fact that, regardless of what you wish, the driver simply could not be charged with 'being a complete asshole'.
@Coolins335 Dont try and change the facts around. This "pastor" was acting tough. Being a complete asshole at the checkpoint. He got tased, and screamed like a girl. It was HIS fault. He brought it on himself. You know why? Because hes a DRAMA QUEEN. End of story.
@Sodiumreactor, an illegal checkpoint. If you smashed your head through a window and then tazed the shit out of you, you'd cry like a little girl too. End of story.
This Prosecutor is a complete shill of the state. He is completely co-opted by the system and establishment, and interested only in getting ahead and sucking up. Just look at how he weaseled out of not providing the training records for the K9 dog. He had them all along! He just waited until he had to produce them and whines about giving them to defense 10 minutes prior. That's divine intervention showing justice onto an unjust world, and a slimeball prosecutor.
what people fail to realize is the burden is always on the state. the burden of proof, time, resources, et al. the way justice is supposed to work is that the truth is there and always comes out. a defendant sgould be afforded any "advantage" possible to accurately and honestly prove his innocence.
as far as the christians dont call people names like that comment. saying officer doughnut is hardly spiteful or hateful.
That's hillarious.... He's complaining about the "possibility" of two defense lawyers wasting time, while he wastes the courts time fighting about it... lol..
Sanderson you more patience than I would have considering the circumstances of why your there to begin with. I would have told the prosecutor to shut his cack holster. And as i whisper this....Its Officer DonutSlayer...FYI
Well, the concern the prosecutor exhibits is actually very valid. As a law student who has taken part in many actual cases, if you think more attorneys don't lead to a procedural advantage, you are dead wrong. This is constantly an issue. Why do you think big corporations are basically untouchable?
@rolexxx11 : There is no doubt that a larger brain trust performs better. Psych studies show that the performance is majorly dependent upon the highest IQ in the group. The defense attorney answered very well, explaining accepted protocol.
The prosecutor pointed out that he has 13 attorneys he can bring. He also has them to help him.
He seemed to think that both defense attorneys were going to give opening/closing arguments. He does not know the procedure, apparently.
@KnowJesusKnowPeace Your comment denotes a specific misunderstanding of what goes in in a courtroom and how cases are pursued and won. As Harvard law professor Michal Moffit says "99% of cases are own and lost on procedure" and as Judge Cardozo says "The judge is the king of the courtroom". Procudure is subject to littel else than the will of the judge. The issue with having two vs one attorneys is legion beyond that of just having a smarter guy in the room.
@rolexxx11 They will have more time. They have more resources. Two people arguing in one way is by far more persuasive than one, no matter the arguments. The judge could easily allow both to make closing statements. The defense attorney applies procedure in other cases, do not mistake that this is the same in all cases, all courtrooms, for all judges. I know TV really distorts what the law really is and how it is practiced.
@hiimwhiteboy from what i have seen baptists are always harsh when compared to other groups. but i wouldn't consider myself an authority on the subject.......

Nice . The judge can not even speak in American English. How did she get her law degree? Was it mail ordered from Mexico?

@oldfart2413 buddy I didn't know you need to have an "American accent" to gain a Law degree. Please correct me if I am wrong.
