I noticed that Lionel's GS4 model uses the same main rod as their GS2 (straight instead of tapering outwards from the cylinder) which is incorrect. Has Lionel ever offered a replacement part for that?

@shnimmuc The headlight is meant to flash. They did that on the real GS-4s

@steelflexable The blinking of the mars light should be steady. Real ones never blinked, they swiveled. There is something wrong with your upper mars light, either that or it is the video because the blink is random. I have the same engine.

How do you make all that smoke? Is the engine made to put out that much smoke or do you add a lot of smoke fluid? I only add about 5-6 drops to my GS-2. P.S. I love the GS-4! I saw it at the Lionel train hobby shop I go to!

city horn i think. they wouldnt blow the loud regular daylight whistle so they have the city horn.

There is a separate horn button. It is one of the number pad buttons. This is legacy, so it adds an icon for the horn.

I still think that MTH makes a better version. The sounds, especially the talking, sounded chessey. Plus that was the worst mars light I have ever seen.

The GS4 loco had an air horn, like a diesel I believe. I see it on pictures of this loco. This was a very cutting edge steam loco back then, the pinnacle of steam technology. Right before total dieselization...
