I am sure there are many out they who will disagree, but for me this song sums up the 80's, with the the way things are now, if H.G. Wells, was right, I would go back and stay there, we treated each other better and even though many of us have advanced degrees, we still do not have the cash we had then! We could always afford hair spray and hot clothes!!! LOL
On a side note... I read somewhere that the Beach Boys are doing the b/g vocals on this track. Don't know if that's true or not but it does have some great harmonies.
Great song. I was 17 when this song came out back in 1988 & I still remember going on a school field trip & me & all these other dudes who were normally into heavy metal & hard rock were singing this song out loud & we kept shouting out the "TURN THE RADIO UP" part to the conservative old lady who was driving the bus. She shaked her head & finally gave in & turned it up. That got a big cheer from everyone on the bus. Haha.
I don't know why, but this song popped into my head this morning. I couldn't remember who sang it or what it was called. After a google search of some lyrics, I found it and searched on youtube. I heard it first when I was 11 yrs old and still love it today. God I feel old. What's weird I'm a HUGE Metal Head. I mean heavy stuff like Slayer, GWAR etc., but I'm still a sap when it comes to these 80's ballads/power ballads. Weird.
he looked great in hungry eyes...but he should have paid some one stylist wise because its like his hair went backwards in time..im 38 and in 88 his hair looked ridiculous even then...I think he looks like chris katan sorta from SNL...I respect him though musically, his arangments on piano is good stuff..but he doesnt mix with cleveland people..he lives out in gate mills a very wealthy suburb of cleveland..I live in lakewood
Why nothing like these lost 80's classics on the top 40 today? The airwaves back then were filled with well written music not to mention the great hard rock of the day. What great times to be a kid growing up!! I feel sorry for the kids today living in these times where innocence is lost to terror, global warming and shitty music...
@TheSmokee1892= You know what's funny, you will grow old too. Ha ha. Kidding, I'm just playing with you dude. Sorry about that. We're young at heart. I'm not ready for the grave yet. Take my advice. Don't ever let age be an obstacle.
I HATE that so many people attribute the song It's All Coming Back To Me Now to her camelnecked ass instead of giving credit to Meat Loaf and Marion Raven.
@dynelol People attribute it to her for a reason. Could it be that her version was produced by the same person who WROTE it (Jim Steinman), it was backed perfectly by his crew, and was infinitely more successful than Meatloaf's? Meat's duet partner was a subpar teenie pop tart who never quite made it and did NOT fit the style of the song. He thinks it was suppose to be a duet but I'll take Steinman's word (and version) it's a solo. Dion positively crushed his version in every conceivable way.
@dynelol Celine Dion's voice is annoying and that failed pop tart's voice isn't? Um, ok. 10 MILLION YouTube views since Oct 2009 vs 65 THOUSAND views since April 2010......I'm sure you must know something 10 million others don't. Riiiight. Anyway, back to the Eric Carmen video....
Cierro los ojos para imaginar que estas conmigo en la distancia, que tus manos me acarician suave, que me regalas tu dulzura en un segundo de ternura. R
Just goes to show the difference in culture then and now. THEN, this video was awesome and didnt look odd... NOW... my daughter loves the music but asks if its sung by a drag queen. (sighs) Slippery slope downwards... such a shame
If George Cline sees this, tell me your opinion of it. It's up there with the best of the stuff you post. not much good '80s music, but this is one of the elite.
