Sorry about the spikes just started with all this stuff and admittedly not very savy. Hope to put some new stuff out "With-Out" the spikes...lol and Thanks so much for listening...
Well you play that Byrdland like a PRO. You play allot like Hank Garland & as you know Hank Garland was Jimmy Bruno's mentor! Junior Brown, Robert Plant and many guitarist.
Thank you so much and have a Happy 4h of July. You have an awesome wife !
Blessings,
Amy Garland /sister in law of the Legendary Guitarist Hank Garland
I can't thank you enough for the kind words comming from you it means a lot to me and all for just doing what I love. We are all so fortunate that the world had a Hank Garland and I am most fortunate that he designed the Byrdland my favorite guitar. Thanks again and have a wonderful 4th from our family to yours.
Wow...Thank you so much for the kind words, I love the Byrdland and it is my guitar of choice for jazz. Quick story...
My wife asked me several years ago what I thought was the greatest guitar ever made and I said a Gibson Byrdland and that Christmas that Byrdland you see showed up under the tree...What a gift as was your Father in laws music. Jimmy Bruno thinks the world of Hank and his playing as we all do.
wow, you can really make that guitar sing. I though this would just been another want to be but your a class act! any tips for getting better at jazz.
Thanks for listening and the nice words. As far as studying jazz guitar the only place I would recommend it the Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institute it is an on line study course just google it.
Great! I've got the same guitar :)! Gibson Byrdland 1969...and love the guitar too! She's amazing! I use a Roland Cube 60, a budget friendly amp that does wonders for me. Keep on jazzin'! Cheers from Belgium.
Thanks for taking the time to listen. I use a Fender Princeton Reverb (Blackface) 1965 but have heard good things about the Cube 60 I'll have to check it out. Also my pick guard is cracking and I hear that a lot on our model and year Gibsons, how is yours holding up?
My pickguard has cracked a long time ago. The guitar looks great without a pickguard, although you do see the screw hole now uncovered. I might get a replacement one day, but the great binding on the guitar of course won't match the new white binding of the new pickguard. Or maybe one day I'll get lucky and be able to buy an original pickguard at a acceptable price.
Hey! I just wanted to say that you have excellent fretboard technique! You have a unique skill that most people don't have. Keep playing and keep up the good work.
Camron
BTW, was that a Gibson Byrdland, or a Gibson L-5?...Curious.
Thanks for taking the time to listen and the kind comments. It is a 1969 Gibson Byrdland and my amp of choice is a 1965 Fender Princeton Reverb (blackface).

Great playing but please fix the audio next time. The horrible distortion spikes ruin it.
