I sometimes hated those commercials when I use to have verizon before I switch metro and then AT&T bc it just stupid. Trying to get more costumers bc has more 3G coverage back then used to be phone signal now it's 3G speeds I'm happy to have AT&T as my new phone company since a 1 month I have AT&T and really happy with service and 3G speed.

Although the maps are JUST 3g, the maps look like standered coverage maps. Furthermore it apears that the at&t phone in the commercial is useless which supports this idea. Also, With that in mind, most people dont understand the diffrence between a 3g map, and a coverage map. In my opinion that is a form of false advertising, and Verizon should clairify. Although From an advertising standpoint Verizon did do an awsome job at walking that line between the actual message and the perceved message.

wow, people are so stupid nowadays. The map on the commercial is for 3G coverage, not just coverage in general. You do not need 3G coverage to make simple calls and send text messages. Simply put, the map is fairly accurate.

To make things worse, AT&T went to court to try and make Verizon stop running this commercial, and the judge denied their request. Why? The map was right.

All AT&T did was bring attention to their crappy service.

Even if AT&T coverage was exactly the same as Verizon, ALL Verizon phones have a rake receiver that looks ahead for towers and ensures a smooth "hand-off" when changing towers. AT&T phones do not, which results in more dropped calls. Picture a NFL quarterback trying to hand the ball off in a football game while blindfolded. AT&T ran ad campaigns that claimed fewer dropped calls than any other US carrier - something ANY rep in a Verizon OR AT&T store knows is plain and simply put...impossible.

Actually, it's impossible to use an iPhone with Verizon. The iPhone is GSM, and Verizon's network is CDMA; they are physically incompatible. Unlocked iPhones are only good on other GSM networks.
