  • I love the terry prachett's books and the movie was just genius.

  • "going postal" is a great book -- funny, wise, and sharp. the movie is cheap, cheesy, and crass. it was a damn good story, and the dickhead of a director just HAD to dumb it down and have his useless, pathetic "vision" inserted like a bad suppository.

  • This film was shite. Moist is a charming conman, but in the film he isn't charming, or a seemingly good conman, he's just a sarcastic asshole. This movie pissed me off.

  • I didn't quite like this as much as the other Disc World stories. The entire plot is focused on one person and it is unbearalby personal to that individua but worst of all it supports a character. This is so unlike Terry Pratchet to write like this not to mention it detracts from the Disc World aesthetic. I do, however, understand that to have written this for screen in the same style as the Hogfather or the Colour of Magic wouldn't have been nearly as successful.

  • We always watch Hogfather as a Christmas tradition. 4 days from Christmas eve I find out about this movie. *face palm* >.< ...Does Amazon do extra speedy deliveries?

The book was really good, I honestly don't think there is a book I don't actually like. I mean, I have my favorites, but he writes such cleaver, witty, imaginative stories!! Honestly, I was relieved after reading the first book lol I finally found something I *really* enjoyed reading.

  • i really want to see ray winstone as sir samuel vimes

  • i am 15 and i have been reading terry pratchett for five years. I NEVER GET TIRED OF IT!

  • hmz hab was geiles entdeckt haha

  • I love this movie. The chemistry between Moist and Adorabelle is amazing. I hope they do Making Money next.

  • Going Postal is one of my favorite books from the Discworld series, and this movie is one of my favorite too (I know, the movie its not exactly like the book, but this happens :P, but for me its still a great movie and I had lots of fun watching, and Charles Dance is awesome) :D

  • Im from Hungary, Budapest, where the film was captioned. I never thought that my homecity will be "Ankh-Morpork" in the movie. :)

  • @lordmakarix

    This is awesome. :P

  • Because of some cause servise of youtube don't let the possibility to send video-responses more than one time. I can`t hear your applause, that's why don't estimate my video if my music is liked you. If my music is liked you, help me to spread it to your friends.

I hope you'll like my music, that's why this music was written for you!

  • It looks fantastic! If the world were exposed to Terry Pratchett's wit, the world couldn't help but love it.

  • Who wants Terry Pratchett's Troll Bridge made into a movie i know i do so please visit kickstarter and make Terry Pratchett's troll bridge a reality for all the people at snowgum films

  • youve been a naughty boy

  • hmm this looks better than some other TV adaptations of Pratchett's work. i must check this out

  • oh. my. god. Its. But. Him as... him! MUST SEE!

  • JEAH I got this movie to christmas!

  • @PracticeRecover

Otto Chriek. he even has a thick steroetypical accent, like in really old movies. Pick up The Truth by pratchett to see whole chapters about him and his (suicidial) love of photography.

  • and once more it is shown that you can't / shouldn't put a great book into pictures...

what i don't get, is why they keep changing characters when doing this. Moist von Lipwig never believed for 1 second that he really had the chance to just leave. he checked properly , and didn't almost fall (2:00).

  • I absolutely love Pratchett's work but was skeptical about whether or not a novel about a post office could be entertaining but once again Terry's genius shines through. I think that going postal is perhaps one of his strongest novels to date and that is saying a lot. As good as the film was, it didn't do the book enough justice in my opinion. Not because the film was poor which it wasn't, but more because the book is so well written and I think anyone would have a hard time adapting it to film.

  • @InfiniteBlueUK Very true, I think that's the root of the problems that some people have with these films. There's someone who's borrowing the books off me. He hasn't read Going Postal yet, so perhaps I'll lend him the film first to see how that works out, out of curiosity.

  • so fucking awesome! One of my fav's comes to life ^^

  • damn please release this here in Canada...PLEASE!

  • @grahamkeithtodd i think you can but the dvds online or even watch the films online

  • another cool hungarian movie!

  • @wildufo Attól még nem lesz magyar film, hogy Itthon forgatták és magyarok is részt vettek a készítésében. Az Index mindig túloz egy kicsit...

  • @CaptainRumi de.

  • Considering who he's played in the past, it seems pretty fitting that Richard Coyle should star in a Discworld movie.

  • "You have been a very naughty boy, and you know what happens...to naughty boys?!!!"

    Claire Foy is awesome =D

  • "If you don`t know where you`ve been then, you cant know where you`re going" Pity our govenments dont follow that rule!

  • CHARLES DANCE AS THE PATRICIAN. Effing AWESOME.

  • @KryssLaBryn Good in the role, but they could have easily dyed his hair and beard black!!!!!!

  • If more people read Pratchett's work then the movie works well, whether it is true to the book or not.

  • I always love it when Pterry expresses his opinions on his own work and what people make of it. Almost as much fun as the books themselves! :)

  • Shouldn't mr Pump be bigger?

  • after the post office burns down, the movie goes downhill with it. really sad becouse it had a very good start...

  • It's always necessary to dumb down a story for TV, but much of the message of Going Postal is lost in this version. Instead of focusing on how big business and big finance are dominated by conmen who conspire together to limit innovation, this version focuses on the evil done by a two-bit criminal forging bonds. Instead of spurring us to become informed about the larger world, it dispenses a lame moral lesson on the importance of following the rules.

  • @TheRadicalClan

Moist doesn't seem suave enough, period. Neither does Gilt. I mean seriously, the whole point about Moist is that he's a witty fast-talker, and with Gilt he's supposed to be larger than life.

Instead we've got a bundle of nerves for Moist, and a skin-crawling wierdo for Gilt.

Why can't they get an actual Discworld fan in for these things?

  • @Lodatzor

I'd say he doesn't really gain his sauvity? sauveness? Until Making Money, he appeared to be very close to a bundle of nerves from what i remember of reading 'Postal.

  • @Wharficron

Only on the inside. He'd never have been a successful conman in the first place if he was a bundle of nerves on the outside. ;)

Plus, many of his lines in Going Postal are smooth as hell. ;)

  • @Lodatzor Terry Pratchett himself loves it. You can tell in his interviews about it. I think he's just about the biggest fan they could get for this.

  • @dsdepadova

Yes. getting royalty money will have that effect. ;)

  • They missed out Bloody Stupid's post sorting machine. :(

  • <3 his beard

  • 4:39 Otto!

  • I love Drumknott's expression at around 3:40 :D
