He says that the IR Leds can't be seen with the human eye. Well, I must have special eyes because the Leds in the cameras supplied with my recorder I can clearly see glowing at night. For me they are clearly bright red and consequently form an object that draws one's attention - not something desirable for a security device, I'd have thought.
All I've been using the thing for is a recorder for my bird box camera!
is it motion activated? when i eventually get a system like this i dont see the point in wasting space with footage of a brick wall which i have to search through hours off to see if anyone suspicous walked up to my house. I dont know what the price point is off this, or the system i mention buts its still valid
@bmw2go11 yeh something so simple which could have been written into the software let down by designers. Oh well think il stick to pluggin in usb cameras into my HTPC for now :)
can someone point me in the rite direction of a good dvr?

@glennster101 na, it records until the hdd is completely full and then goes back and starts writing over the old video..
it gets kinda annoying if something happened and you didn't notice until a week later, "ow lemmi just look at the video, damn it's erased" :/
