  • Feeling kinda lonely on a long costal ride back from a weekend at the beach. Knowing I had to leave home soon to be someone I didn't really want to, another rung up on the corporate ladder to the not me I got pushed into mixing with the rolling in gentle waves and Poco in the air. 25 years later I remember, I should have turned back down that dusty road to that old beach house when I had the chance and locked the door. Now money cant bring me any happiness my soul is in ruins. I love this song.

  • Before the Eagles we had Gram Parsons and POCO..all 3 are covered with greatness and only one is praised by our media culture...IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS and POCO is the best......I love this group of musicians who were in POCO at this time...Paul Cotton and Tim Schmit's vocals are just spot on....Thanks POCO

  • Better than JJ never but equal would be accepted !!!

  • Sorry Meisner, Schmit shadowed you all the way to the Eagles...

  • @travlynn08 What do u mean by this post ?

  • the basis for the Eagles.....

  • Still after 30 yrs this is still a great song, Thanks

  • who the hell is poco ?

  • @rbn5051 You must of been born in the late 90”s. I disagree with you about the Eagles! Do your homework.

  • who did the vocal on this one?

  • @Steev625 Poco

    Magnolia written by J.J.Cale

    Paul Cotton lead vocal/guitar

    Tim Schmit vocals/bass

    Richie Furay guitar

    Rusty Young steel guitar

    George Grantham drums

  • @stlblair oh thanks... sorry i didn't even think to read the description lol!!!

  • Even though JJ (Love you Mr. Cale) wrote this song, these guys did the BEST rendition of anyone for this song PERIOD!

  • After seeing a friend's cover of this song I knew I'd visit this video at some point today, lol. This must be my 200+ listen. Magnolia never wears my ears and melts all my tensions and troubles into soft mellow nothings.

  • Poco is the band The Eagles always wanted to be. Too bad they just never measured up to Poco.

  • @bskeywest You are so right. Poco is a household name. Everybody knows this band. I mean who the hell is Don Henley? Joe Walsh? Glen Frey? Timothy Schmitt? Jackson Browne (Eagles collaborator)? NOBODY has ever heard those names. Unlike Poco, who everybody knows, the Eagles never made any money being such a crappy band. Poco even did a reunion tour that was the top money making act, all the way around, for an entire year. Yeah, the Eagles just faded away as nobodies.

  • @VoodooPolitico You are so right, whoever is the most famous and sells the most records is the best. Britney Spears is better than Cat Power, John Denver better than Townes Van Zandt, Def Leppard better than the Clash. Brilliant.

  • @ktheintz You DID catch the sarcasm in my post....right?

  • oh man I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this song. I love it x 100. JJ by Poco, man what soul warming combo. I know I'll be back, thanks for posting :)

  • This is one of the best recordings of JJ.Cale's song Magnolia. Paul Cotton & Timothy B. Schmit rendition of this song is incredible. POCO deserves the recognition it didn't achieve. Great group, great music, timeless!!!!!!!

  • So good!

  • @stlblair , can i sniff it?

  • The Eagles were the beneficiaries of Poco's blending rock with country music.

These boys never got their just due. Too bad. A truly remarkable body of work. Thanks Poco

  • @BaahBen I totaly agree. This is better Than JJ and Im an Okie. LOL

  • @BaahBen You must have forgotten "The Band" They played with JJ and Leon and soo many more greats.

  • Beautiful

  • So many wonderful moments on Poco's 2004 Reunion Concert DVD, but Paul Cotton's performance of this J. J. Cale song was the absolute highlight. Not afraid to admit that I cry tears of joy every time I watch it. Better than the album version, if that's possible.

  • The best I ever heard...

  • why does the creep posting this song need to be naked you have been reported

  • I have the JJ Cale and Poco LP with this song. Two very different versions.

  • another version of this song is from Pat Travers

  • If it's possible they did this song better than JJ. Thanks for this.

  • @peteporter MAaaaaaYBe but im an okie so hace to stick with JJ. LOL

  • @peteporter MAaaaaaYBe but im an okie so have to stick with JJ. LOL
